Historic Blues-Blackhawks NHL Telecast on NBCSN Featuring All-Women Commentators and Production Team Delivers Ratings Milestones

STAMFORD, Conn. – March 10, 2020 – Two of the best teams in the NHL highlight NBC Sports’ “Push for the Playoffs” this week, as David Pastrnak and the league-leading Boston Bruins visit Claude Giroux and the surging Philadelphia Flyers tonight at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

This week’s Wednesday Night Hockey matchup features Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks facing off against Brent Burns and the San Jose Sharks at 8 p.m. ET. Coverage begins with NHL Live at 7 p.m. ET.

Sunday evening’s matchup on NBCSN features a pair of teams vying in the Western Conference Wild Card race, when Kevin Fiala and the Minnesota Wild host Roman Josi and the Nashville Predators at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Tonight’s studio coverage will be hosted by Kathryn Tappen with Patrick Sharp and Mike Milbury. Liam McHugh will host Wednesday’s coverage on NHL Live alongside analysts Keith Jones and Sharp. Sunday’s studio coverage will be hosted by Tappen alongside Milbury and Jones.

TONIGHT – BRUINS-FLYERS AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The league-leading Bruins (43-14-12, 98 pts) had their four-game winning streak snapped on Saturday when they fell to the Lightning, 5-3. David Pastrnak scored in the loss and is currently tied for the league lead in goals (48). Brad Marchand (28g/58a) recorded an assist to extend his point streak to 12 games, the longest active streak in the league.

The Flyers (41-20-7, 89 pts) are the hottest team in the NHL, riding a nine-game winning streak into tonight’s clash with Boston, and can take over the Metropolitan Division lead with a win. Philadelphia has the best home record in the league, owning a 25-5-4 record at Wells Fargo Center.

Play-by-play commentator John Walton and analyst Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will call the action from Philadelphia, Pa.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY – SHARKS-BLACKHAWKS AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Sharks (29-35-5, 63 pts) fell to the Avalanche 4-3 on Sunday. In the defeat, Timo Meier (21g/26a) registered two assists, adding to his team leading point total.

The Blackhawks (31-30-8, 70 pts) were shut out by the Blues, 2-0, this past Sunday on NBCSN. Patrick Kane (31g/51a) leads the team in points and ranks eighth in the league.

Seven-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, who is in his 15th season as NBC Sports’ lead NHL play-by-play commentator, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Brian Boucher will call Sharks-Blackhawks from United Center in Chicago, Ill.

SUNDAY – PREDATORS-WILD AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Nashville (34-26-8, 76 pts) is currently one point behind Minnesota (35-27-7, 77 pts) for the second Wild Card spot in the West. The Predators are coming off back-to-back shutouts of the Dallas Stars, including a 1-0 win in Dallas on Saturday. Goaltender Juuse Saros registered 37 saves in the win and recorded his fourth shutout of the season.

The Wild have won eight of their past 11 matchups, including a 5-4 overtime win on Sunday over the Ducks. Kevin Fiala (23g/31a) leads the club in points and scored two goals in the win.

Play-by-play commentator Chris Cuthbert and analyst AJ Mleczko will call the action at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.

HISTORIC BLUES-BLACKHAWKS NHL TELECAST ON NBCSN FEATURING ALL-WOMEN COMMENTATORS AND PRODUCTION TEAM DELIVERS RATINGS MILESTONES

Sunday night’s Blues-Blackhawks game on NBCSN, which was the first NHL telecast in the U.S. to feature an all-women game commentary and production team, delivered ratings milestones. The game averaged a Total Audience Delivery of 562,000 viewers, which stands as NBCSN’s most-watched NHL regular-season game in nearly a year (Phi-Pit; 3/17/19; 730,000 viewers), excluding Wednesday Night Hockey games. Overall, Blues-Blackhawks was NBCSN’s fourth-most watched NHL game of the season.
