NBC Sports Presents “Wired: Stadium Series – Kings vs. Avalanche” Wednesday at 12 a.m. ET on NBCSN Following Ducks-Avalanche

STAMFORD, Conn. – March 3, 2020 – NBC Sports presents six NHL games this week, highlighted by a Wednesday Night Hockey doubleheader beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET with the top two teams in the Metropolitan Division, when Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals host Claude Giroux and the Philadelphia Flyers. Coverage continues at 9:30 p.m. ET, when Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche play host to Ryan Getzlaf and the Anaheim Ducks.

NBC Sports will take fans inside the sounds and passion of hockey with a one-hour special “Wired: Stadium Series – Kings vs. Avalanche” Wednesday night at 12 a.m. ET on NBCSN, immediately following coverage of Ducks-Avalanche.

NBC Sports’ second NBCSN doubleheader of the week on Sunday begins at 7:30 p.m. ET, when Ryan O’Reilly and the Western Conference-leading St. Louis Blues face Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks. NBC Sports will utilize an all-female crew to broadcast and produce game coverage of Blues-Blackhawks, coinciding with International Women’s Day and marking the first NHL game broadcast and produced solely by women in the U.S. Click here for more info.

Sunday’s nightcap in San Jose will feature Brent Burns and the Sharks hosting MacKinnon and the Avalanche at 10 p.m. ET.

This week’s NHL coverage begins tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when the Lightning host the Bruins, a clash that features the top two teams in the Eastern Conference. On Thursday, NBCSN will feature Sebastian Aho and the Carolina Hurricanes facing off against Giroux and the Flyers at 7 p.m. ET.

Liam McHugh will host Wednesday’s coverage on NHL Live alongside analysts Keith Jones and Anson Carter and NHL insider Bob McKenzie. Tappen will host Sunday night’s studio coverage alongside analyst and three-time Canadian Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Botterill.

Tonight’s studio coverage will be hosted by McHugh with Jones and Scott Hartnell. Additionally, Thursday’s studio coverage will be hosted by Paul Burmeister alongside analysts Mike Milbury and Hartnell.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY – FLYERS-CAPITALS AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Flyers (38-20-7, 83 pts) defeated the Rangers 5-3 on Sunday for their sixth straight win and currently sit in second place in the Metropolitan Division. Travis Konecny (23g/37a) registered a goal and assist in the victory and leads the team in points.

On Sunday, the Capitals (40-19-6, 86 pts) beat the Wild 4-3 on NBCSN and remain atop the Metropolitan Division standings. Alex Ovechkin (45g/18a) is tied for second in the league in goals and John Carlson (15g/58a) leads the team in points with 73, which is the most among all league defensemen.

Kenny Albert (play-by-play), Eddie Olczyk (analyst) and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Capital One Arena in Washington D.C.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY – DUCKS-AVALANCHE AT 9:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Ducks (26-31-8, 60 pts) are winners of two of their last three games and are paced in points by Ryan Getzlaf (13g/27a). The Avalanche (40-18-7, 87 pts) are on a seven-game winning streak and beat the Red Wings 2-1 last night. Nathan MacKinnon (33g/53a) ranks fifth in the league in points (86).   

Play-by-play commentator Chris Cuthbert and analyst Brian Hayward will have the call from Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo.

NBC SPORTS PRESENTS “WIRED: STADIUM SERIES – KINGS VS. AVALANCHE” TOMORROW AT 12 A.M. ET ON NBCSN FOLLOWING DUCKS-AVALANCHE

NBC Sports will take fans inside the sounds and passion of hockey with a one-hour special “Wired: Stadium Series – Kings vs. Avalanche” tomorrow at 12 a.m. ET on NBCSN, immediately following coverage of Ducks-Avalanche.

The program will utilize audio from a total of 12 players, coaches and referees from the Los Angeles Kings’ 3-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in the 2020 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series matchup at U.S. Air Force Academy’s Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Feb. 15 on NBC.

TONIGHT – BRUINS-LIGHTNING AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The league-leading Bruins (41-13-12, 94 pts) defeated the Islanders, 4-0, on Saturday. David Pastrnak tallied his league-leading 47th goal of the year.

The Lightning (41-19-5, 87 pts) are coming off a 4-3 win over Calgary on Saturday. Tampa Bay has scored the second most goals in the league (228), led by Nikita Kucherov’s team-leading 31 goals.

Play-by-play commentator John Forslund, Emmy Award-winning ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire and analyst Mike Milbury will call the action at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.

SUNDAY – BLUES-BLACKHAWKS AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Currently on a seven-game winning streak, the Blues (39-17-10, 88 pts) remain atop the Western Conference standings. Brayden Schenn scored for the fourth straight contest and is second on the team in goals (24).

The Blackhawks (29-28-8, 66 pts), winners of back-to-back games, have been paced this season by Patrick Kane (78 pts) who leads the team in points and owns the eighth-highest total in the league.

NBC Sports will utilize an all-female crew to broadcast and produce game coverage of Blues-Blackhawks, coinciding with International Women’s Day and marking the first NHL game broadcast and produced solely by women in the U.S.

Kate Scott (play-by-play) will call the action alongside U.S. Olympic gold medalists Kendall Coyne-Schofield (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) and AJ Mleczko (analyst) from United Center in Chicago, Ill. Game production will be led by producer Rene Hatlelid and director Lisa Seltzer.

SUNDAY – AVALANCHE-SHARKS AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

San Jose (28-33-4, 60 pts) has won two games in a row and most recently shut out the Penguins, 5-0, on Saturday. Evander Kane registered a goal and assist in the win and leads the team in goals (22). Play-by-play commentator Randy Hahn and analyst Jamie Baker will call the action at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.

THURSDAY – HURRICANES-FLYERS AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Hurricanes (35-24-5, 75 pts) are currently only three points behind Columbus (78 pts) for the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference and have three games in hand. Carolina’s Sebastian Aho is fifth in the NHL in goals (36). Play-by-play commentator John Forslund and analyst Pierre McGuire will call the contest from Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa.
