STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 13, 2020 – The top team in the Western Conference will play on NBC Sports’ Wednesday Night Hockey this week, when All-Star Ryan O’Reilly and the defending Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues host Claude Giroux and the Philadelphia Flyers this Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

For the second time this season and the first appearance in 2020, NHL on NBC will present the NHL Game of the Week this Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET, when Evgeni Malkin and the Pittsburgh Penguins host All-Star David Pastrnak and the Boston Bruins.

NBCSN’s NHL coverage this week begins tomorrow night at 7 p.m. ET, when Malkin and the Penguins host Zach Parise and the Minnesota Wild in Pittsburgh.

In addition, NBC Sports will present the Wild’s second appearance on NBCSN this week on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET, when they host Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Kathryn Tappen will host Wednesday’s coverage on NHL Live alongside analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones and NHL insider Darren Dreger. Liam McHugh will anchor studio coverage on Thursday with Milbury and Ben Lovejoy. Tomorrow night’s studio coverage will be hosted by Tappen alongside analysts Jones and Anson Carter.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY
– FLYERS-BLUES AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Blues (29-10-7, 65 pts) currently sit atop the Western Conference standings and are tied for the league lead in points with both the Bruins and Capitals. The Blues have won their last eight matchups at home and are tied for the most home victories this season (16). David Perron paces the team in goals (20) and points (46).

Currently in the playoff bubble in the Eastern Conference, the Flyers (23-16-6, 52 pts) will look to rebound this week after dropping five of their previous six games. Travis Konecny leads the team in goals (14) and points (38) and will make his first NHL All-Star Game appearance next weekend in St. Louis. Both teams are in action tonight, with the Blues hosting the Ducks, and the Flyers playing host to the Bruins.

Seven-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, who is in his 15th season as NBC Sports’ lead NHL play-by-play commentator, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Brian Boucher will call Flyers-Blues from Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Mo.

NHL GAME OF THE WEEK – BRUINS-PENGUINS SUNDAY AT 12:30 P.M. ET ON NBC

The Bruins (27-8-11, 65 pts) will face the Penguins (28-12-5, 61 pts) on NBC Sports’ NHL Game of the Week this Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Boston has earned points in 12 of its last 13 games (7-1-5). The team is led by David Pastrnak (35g/30a) and Brad Marchand (20g/42a), who both rank in the top five in points throughout the league. Pastrnak is also the current league leader in goals scored with 35.

In yesterday’s 4-3 shootout victory against the Coyotes, Evgeni Malkin passed Jaromir Jagr for third place on the Penguins’ all-time assist list. The win marked the third straight for the Penguins on the road, who have seven victories in their past nine games. Malkin has registered a point in 13 of his last 15 matchups, and paces the team in assists (31) and points (44).

Emrick, Olczyk and Boucher will have the call of the Bruins-Penguins matchup on NBC from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.

TOMORROW – WILD-PENGUINS AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Wild (20-19-6, 46 pts) are led by Eric Staal’s 33 points (16g/17a), who will make his sixth career NHL All-Star Game appearance in St. Louis. Minnesota will look to rebound from a 4-1 loss to Vancouver on Sunday. Play-by-play commentator John Forslund and analyst AJ Mleczko will call the action from Pittsburgh.

THURSDAY – LIGHTNING-WILD AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Lightning (27-14-4, 58 pts) had their ten-game winning streak snapped last night when they fell to the Devils, 3-1. During the winning streak, Steven Stamkos collected his 400th career assist, accomplishing the milestone after reaching the 400-goal mark earlier this season.

John Walton will handle play-by-play duties alongside Emmy Award-winning ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.
