Curling Night in America Features Teams from United States, Scotland, Japan and Italy in Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles Competitions

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 10, 2020 – “Friday Night is Curling Night” on NBCSN, as Curling Night in America returns for a sixth consecutive season this fall on NBCSN, highlighted by skip John Shuster and members of the 2018 Team USA Olympic gold medal men’s curling team. Coverage continues tonight 10 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when the Team USA Mixed Doubles tandem of Sarah Anderson and Korey Dropkin takes on Japan.

Curling Night in America features Team USA, as well as Scotland, Japan, and Italy, and includes one men’s, women’s and mixed doubles team from each nation competing in round-robin tournaments. A points system will be used to determine a winner in each division (men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles), as well as an overall champion. “Friday Night is Curling Night” this winter on NBCSN, as all premiere telecasts for the 2020 Curling Night in America season will air on Friday nights.

The Team USA men’s rink is skipped by John Shuster and features three of the four players on the Olympic gold-winning team in PyeongChang earlier this year. The Team USA women’s rink is skipped by Jamie Sinclair and features PyeongChang Olympian Cory Christensen.

Following are the teams representing Team USA in the sixth season of Curling Night in America:

  • Men: John Shuster, Chris Plys, Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner
  • Women:Jamie Sinclair, Cory Christensen, Vicky Persinger, Taylor Anderson
  • Mixed doubles: Sarah Anderson, Korey Dropkin

Team USA dominated Curling Night in America last year, posting a 17-1 record across all competitions to win the American Cup for the third consecutive year.

Jason Knapp (play-by-play), 2006 Olympic bronze medalist Pete Fenson (analyst), and Tanith White (reporter) will provide commentary for all Curling Night in America telecasts. The event was held at the Polar Iceplex in Raleigh, N.C., from Aug. 22-24.
