STAMFORD, Conn. – Dec. 18, 2019 – Atlanta will host men’s and women’s Big Air events this weekend as the Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding World Cup continues, highlighting this week’s Olympic programming across NBC Sports. The event will take place in SunTrust Park, the home of baseball’s Atlanta Braves, on a 15-story steel scaffold jump structure covered with 800 tons of snow.

Two-time Olympic medalist Nick Goepper is expected to headline the American freestyle skiers, while the U.S. snowboarding team will include Olympic gold medalists Red Gerard and Jamie Anderson. NBCSN presents live coverage of the event this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.

The Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding World Cup additionally holds events this week in China and Italy. The first aerials competition of the season will be held in Shimao Lotus Mountain, China. Three-time Olympian Ashley Caldwell, who led the U.S. women’s aerials team last season, and Chris Lillis, the top American man at the 2019 World Championships, will both be in action.

Snowboard cross will be contested this week in Cervinia, Italy, while a snowboard halfpipe event will be held at Secret Garden, a 2022 Olympic venue near Beijing. Olympic silver medalist Lindsey Jacobellis currently sits fifth in the women’s snowboard cross standings following the first World Cup event of the season.

The alpine skiing World Cup continues this week across France and Italy. Mikaela Shiffrin headlined the field in Courchevel, France (coverage today on NBCSN at 6 p.m. ET). Women’s speed events will take place this weekend in Val d’Isire, France, where two-time Olympian Alice McKennis is expected to compete.

The men’s World Cup events will take place throughout the week in Cal Gardena and Alta Badia, Italy. The U.S. men’s speed team is expected to be led by Bryce Bennett, who was the Americans’ top downhill skier last season. Men’s tech events begin with giant slalom in Alta Badia as two-time Olympian Tommy Ford leads the giant slalom World Cup standings following his win earlier this month in Beaver Creek.

NBCSN presents coverage of the women’s giant slalom today at 6 p.m. ET. Live coverage of women’s events on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA and NBC Sports Gold this weekend includes downhill on Saturday at 4:15 a.m. ET and combined on Sunday at 8 a.m. ET.

Live men’s coverage begins with the Super-G this Friday at 5:30 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA and NBC Sports Gold, and continues this weekend with the downhill on Saturday at 5:45 a.m. ET and giant slalom at 7 a.m. ET on Sunday.

Additionally, NBCSN has coverage of the women’s downhill this Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET and women’s combined this Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

BIATHLON WORLD CUP – LE GRAND-BORNAND, FRANCE

The 2019-20 Biathlon World Cup continues this week with its third stop at Le Grand-Bornand Resort in France. The U.S. team will feature 2018 Olympians Sean Doherty and Leif Nordgren for the men, while the women are expected to be led by two-time Olympian Susan Dunklee and Clare Egan, who was the top American finisher in the World Cup standings last season.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, NBC Sports Gold and OlympicChannel.com present live coverage beginning Thursday with the men’s 10km sprint at 8:15 a.m. ET. Live coverage continues throughout the weekend, beginning Friday at 8 a.m. ET, Saturday at 7 a.m. ET and Sunday at 6 a.m. ET.

The ski jumping World Cup season continues this week with men’s competitions in Engelberg, Switzerland. 2018 Olympian Kevin Bickner, who was the top finisher for the U.S. men at the 2019 World Championships, is expected to lead the American men this season.

CYCLO-CROSS WORLD CUP – NAMUR, BELGIUM

The cyclo-cross World Cup season continues on Sunday with the sixth stop of the season in Namur, Belgium. Cyclo-cross, a non-Olympic discipline, combines cycling, steeplechase and NASCAR all into one, with athletes racing around a circuit course with steep hills, difficult descents, mud, grass, sand and dirt. The U.S. is currently ranked third in the overall women’s nation standings. The top-ranked individual American is Kaitie Keough on the women’s side.
