“Notre Dame Fan Feed Presented by Brighthouse Financial” to Provide Fighting Irish Fans with Secondary Viewing Experience on NBCSN

STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 21, 2019 – NBC Sports concludes its coverage of the 2019 Notre Dame football season this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC, when QB Ian Book and the No. 16 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (8-2) host Boston College (5-5) from Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind.

NBC Sports’ Notre Dame Football commentary team of Mike Tirico (play-by-play), Doug Flutie (analyst), Kathryn Tappen (sideline reporter), and Terry McAulay (rules analyst) will call the game. NBC Sports’ Liam McHugh will host studio coverage alongside Chris Simms, who will also serve as an in-game sideline analyst.

A secondary viewing experience, “Notre Dame Fan Feed Presented by Brighthouse Financial,” will be available for Saturday’s game on NBCSN. Co-hosted by NBC Sports’ Ahmed Fareed, Notre Dame defensive lineman Daelin Hayes, who is out for the season with a shoulder injury, former Fighting Irish running back Darius Walker, Notre Dame alumna and Sports Illustrated producer Jessica Smetana, and reporter Tony Simeone, who will report from inside Notre Dame Stadium, the broadcast will marry Notre Dame Radio’s play-by-play call with commentary and anecdotes from the co-hosts and bring viewers a unique in-stadium experience. With limited commercial breaks, the “Notre Dame Fan Feed” will feature broadcast graphics with Notre Dame-specific content in the ticker and side panel throughout the entirety of the game.

Saturday’s game marks the 35th anniversary of Flutie’s famous Hail Mary on November 23, 1984, when Flutie, as Boston College’s quarterback, completed a last-second, 48-yard game-winning touchdown pass to give the Eagles a thrilling victory over Miami. Flutie would go on to win the 1984 Heisman Trophy. A special feature commemorating the anniversary of the play will air during halftime of Saturday’s game.

The Fighting Irish will wear an alternate uniform this weekend, commemorating the celebration of 150 years of college football. The uniform is based on the classic design of the uniforms worn by the 1988 Fighting Irish National Championship team.

Notre Dame holds a 15-9 edge vs. Boston College in the all-time series, winning the most recent meeting, 49-20, on September 16, 2017.

The Fighting Irish look for their fourth consecutive victory this season after defeating then-No. 23 Navy, 52-20, at home last weekend. The Notre Dame defense held the Midshipmen to 360 total yards and forced four turnovers. On offense, Book passed for 284 yards and five touchdowns – his second consecutive game with at least four touchdown passes – and WR Chase Claypool had seven receptions for 117 yards and tied an Irish single-game record with four touchdown catches. Notre Dame can cap its second straight undefeated home season with a victory and move closer to a third consecutive 10-win season.

Boston College, coming off a bye week, looks to rebound from a 38-31 loss to Florida State two weeks ago. The Eagles’ offense is led by RB AJ Dillon, who ranks third in the nation with 1,451 rushing yards this season. Boston College will be bowl eligible for the fourth straight season with a win in either of its final two regular-season games.
