STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 22, 2019 – Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers (6-1) visit the Kansas City Chiefs (5-2) in a first-place showdown between leaders of the NFC North and AFC West, respectfully, on NBC’s Sunday Night Football this week. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET on NBC, followed by kickoff at 8:20 p.m. ET from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO.

This weekend’s SNF game is designated as the NFL100 Game of the Week, as Packers-Chiefs marks the rematch of Super Bowl I, which took place on January 15, 1967, at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. It was broadcast on NBC with Curt Gowdy doing play-by-play and Paul Christman as analyst. The Packers won 35-10.

Calling Packers-Chiefs is Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his record 34th season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 16-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth; and three-time Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya. Three-time Super Bowl referee and SNF rules analyst Terry McAulay joins Michaels and Collinsworth in the booth.

Rodgers ranks third in the NFC with 2,019 passing yards this season and comes off his first ever perfect 158.3 quarterback rating last weekend in the Packers’ 42-24 rout of the Oakland Raiders, where he recorded a season-high five passing touchdowns and added a rushing TD. Packers leading rusher Aaron Jones ranks sixth in the NFC with 399 yards and eight touchdowns, while Marquez Valdes-Scantling tops the team in yardage (416) and leads the NFL in catches of 40 yards or more (5).

Chiefs’ backup QB Matt Moore will make his home debut this weekend at Arrowhead Stadium after taking over for Patrick Mahomes during last week’s 30-6 victory over the Denver Broncos. Mahomes remains out with a knee injury. TE Travis Kelce leads the Chiefs’ high-scoring offense, ranking fourth in the AFC in receiving yards (541). The Chiefs’ offense ranks third in the NFL in yards per game (400.4) and points per game (28.9).

Ahead of this weekend’s SNF matchup, Mahomes and Brett Favre join Peter King for a thirty-minute special, “The Film Session” following tomorrow night’s Wednesday Night Hockey at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. The special features a catch and conversation between Favre and Mahomes, and a private film session with Favre, Mahomes, and Chiefs’ coach Andy Reid focusing on  clips of the two QBs’ best plays.

Mike Tirico will host Football Night in America at 7 p.m. ET alongside Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl champion Rodney Harrison, NFL Insider Mike Florio and former NFL quarterback Chris Simms. Liam McHugh will co-host Football Night in America on-site from Arrowhead Stadium.

NBC’s coverage of Sunday Night Football is led by executive producer Fred Gaudelli and director Drew Esocoff. FNIA begins every Sunday at 7 p.m. ET, and is produced by Rob Hyland and directed by Mike Sheehan.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING: Flexible scheduling will be used in Weeks 11-17. Additionally, in Weeks 5-10, flexible scheduling may be used in no more than two weeks. In Weeks 5-16, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time. Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games airing on Thursday or Monday nights.

A flexible scheduling move would be announced at least 12 days before the game. For Week 17, the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to December 29. The schedule does not list a Sunday night game in Week 17, but an afternoon game with playoff implications will be moved to that time slot. Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks, and gives “surprise” teams a chance to play their way into prime time.
