STAMFORD, Conn. – September 18, 2019 – NBC Sports presents coverage of the Premier Lacrosse League’s inaugural Championship this Saturday, September 21, as Matt Rambo and Whipsnakes LC take on Ryder Garnsey and Redwoods LC at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pa., at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Championship weekend coverage begins Saturday at 11:30 a.m. ET on NBC Sports Gold’s “Premier Lacrosse League Pass” with the First Draft Pick Game, as Archers LC meets Atlas LC with next year’s first overall draft pick at stake.

Whipsnakes LC advanced to the PLL’s first-ever Championship after defeating top-ranked Chaos LC in the first week of the postseason, 15-7. Rambo, Whips attackman and a Jim Brown Most Valuable Player award nominee, led the league in regular-season points with 42 and hopes to lead his team to its first Premier Lacrosse League title.

Redwoods LC also advanced to the Championship following a convincing 12-7 win over the No. 1-seeded Chaos last weekend. Redwoods attackman Ryder Garnsey had 24 points in the regular season and is up for the PLL’s inaugural Rookie of the Year award, along with fellow teammate Tim Troutner.

Whipsnakes and Redwoods faced off twice in the regular season, splitting wins. Redwoods LC gave Whipsnakes LC their first loss of the season back in Week 5, 14-11; but, the Whips beat Redwoods in their second meeting in Week 9, 17-4 – the widest margin of victory in a game this season.

Brendan Burke (play-by-play) and Ryan Boyle (PLL analyst) will call this weekend’s games from Red Bull Arena on NBC and NBC Sports Gold, with Chantel McCabe as a reporter. Matt Rambo of Whipsnakes LC as well as Redwoods LC’s Ryder Garnsey and Eddy Glazener will be mic’d up for under-the-helmet interviews Saturday on NBC. In addition to select players, each team’s head coach will be mic’d up for the duration of the Championship as well.
