STAMFORD, Conn. – September 11, 2019 – NBC Sports’ 29th season of Notre Dame Football kicks off this Saturday, Sept. 14, at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC when the Fighting Irish (1-0) host the New Mexico Lobos (1-0) at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind.

NBC Sports’ Notre Dame Football commentary team is led by Mike Tirico, who begins his third full season as the voice of Notre Dame Football on NBC. He’ll be joined in the booth by Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie, who serves as lead analyst for Notre Dame Football on NBC, and sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen. Terry McAulay returns for his second season as an on-air rules analyst.

For the first time, NBC analyst and former University of Texas & NFL quarterback Chris Simms will serve as an in-game sideline analyst, breaking down the action and providing insights from the field. Liam McHugh returns to host studio coverage of Notre Dame on NBC, alongside Simms.

New for this year, a sideline SkyCam will be used more prominently as the primary play-by-play camera for each game. Stationed at the line of scrimmage for every offensive snap, SkyCam will enhance the viewer experience and bring fans closer to the action on the field.

In addition to its traditional high definition presentation of all Notre Dame Football home games, NBC Sports’ delivery of 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) coverage will return this season for every Fighting Irish home game, in Dolby Atmos® immersive audio, exclusively for DIRECTV customers.

During halftime of each game this season, NBC Sports will present a new feature shot by a Notre Dame football player, providing behind-the-scenes access into his life as a student athlete preparing for the weekend’s game. On Saturday, junior tight end Brock Wright will be featured in the first piece.

Notre Dame posted a 12-1 overall record in 2018, which included victories against Michigan, Syracuse, Northwestern and Stanford resulting in a trip to the College Football Playoff. This marked Notre Dame’s first appearance in the five-year-old college football playoff system. The Fighting Irish ultimately finished the season No. 5 in the final rankings following a Cotton Bowl defeat to the eventual National Champion Clemson Tigers.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will stream coverage of all 2019 Notre Dame home games.
