THE MATCHUPS:

WHIPSNAKES LC (1-0) VS. CHROME LC (0-1) – Saturday, June 8, at 1 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Gold

Whipsnakes LC notched their first win of the season with a 15-14 overtime thriller against Chaos LC last Saturday, and hope to build on that success in Week 2. Whipsnakes attackman Jules Heningburg immediately set the tone for his team with a goal in the first 10 seconds of the game. Despite a hard-fought second half comeback by Chaos LC, Drew Snider – one of the numerous former Terps on the Whipsnakes roster – had the game-winner just 52 seconds into overtime.

Chrome LC looks to rebound from their Week 1 overtime loss (13-12) against Archers LC last weekend. Chrome ran well throughout the game, countering the Archers’ attack-heavy lineup with transition goals from Will Haus, Mike O’Neil and Ty Thompson, but it was the Archers who found the back of the net for the overtime victory.

REDWOODS LC (1-0) VS. ARCHERS LC (1-0)
– Saturday, June 8, at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN

Redwoods LC won their inaugural game of, 11-9, against Atlas LC last Sunday. After going down two goals to nothing, Redwoods scored a series of goals from Clarke Petterson, Sergio Salcido and Matt Kavanagh. Redwoods goalie Tim Troutner made 17 saves in the game and was able to hold off Atlas for the 11-9 win.

Archers LC hope to continue their success this week after beating Chrome LC last weekend in overtime, 13-12. Archers face-off athlete Stephen Kelly found the back of the net just 11 seconds into the game, and attackman Will Manny (4G) was able to finish the game for his team with an overtime goal to defeat Chrome. Late in the fourth quarter, the Archers defense made some huge stops led by great on-ball defense by Matt McMahon (2CT, 3GB) and key saves by goalie Adam Ghitelman (11 saves).

CHAOS LC (0-1) VS. ATLAS LC (0-1) – Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m. ET on NBC

Chaos LC looks to bounce back after a Week 1 overtime defeat by Whipsnakes LC this weekend. After falling behind 4-0, attackman Jake Froccaro cut the Whipsnakes’ lead in half after burying a two-pointer. Chaos’ comeback started immediately in the second half with a Thomas Kelly goal coming within seven seconds. A keystone of Chaos’ Canadian contingent, Josh Byrne, had an early goal to start the fourth quarter, which dramatically put the Chaos up for the first time all game with a 14-13 lead, before ultimately losing in overtime, 15-14.

Paul Rabil’s Atlas LC hopes to notch their first win of the season after a loss last weekend to Redwoods LC. Atlas started the game off with two quick goals before going down 5-2 at the end of the first quarter. Joel Tinney came out at the start of the third and put Atlas up 7-6 before each team exchanged goals to tie it at 8-8, but Redwoods goalie Tim Troutner was able to hold off Atlas for the win.
