STAMFORD, Conn. – April 23, 2019 – NBC Sports presents a Game 7 doubleheader tonight on NBCSN, beginning at 7 p.m. ET, when Brad Marchand and the (2) Boston Bruins host Auston Matthews and the (3) Toronto Maple Leafs, as both teams fight to stay alive in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Six-time Emmy Award-winner Mike “Doc” Emrick (play-by-play), Mike Milbury (analyst), and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from TD Garden in Boston. Tonight’s game marks the 44th Game 7 broadcast of Emrick’s career.
Game 7 coverage shifts west at 10 p.m. ET, when Joe Pavelski and the (2) San Jose Sharks host Marc-Andre Fleury and the (3) Vegas Golden Knights in a win-or-go-home showdown in their First Round series. Gord Miller (play-by-play) and Ray Ferraro (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.
Tonight’s pre-game coverage on NBCSN begins at 6 p.m. ET with NHL Live.

(3) TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS AT (2) BOSTON BRUINS – GAME 7 AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
Boston forced tonight’s decisive Game 7 with a 4-2 win in Game 6 in Toronto on Sunday on NBC. Brad Marchand led the Bruins to victory in Game 6 with a pair of goals and an assist. This marks the second straight year that the Maple Leafs and Bruins will require a Game 7 in their First Round series. The Bruins won last year’s Game 7 in Boston, 7-4, propelled by four unanswered third period goals. Veteran Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara will play in his 13th career Game 7 tonight, which will tie him with Patrick Roy and Scott Stevens for the all-time Stanley Cup Playoffs record.
Analyst Keith Jones on Brad Marchand: “The more hectic the game is, the more important the game is, the better he plays. He’s fired up now and you’ve got an issue. It’s going to be very difficult for Toronto to slow things down.”
(3) VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS AT (2) SAN JOSE SHARKS – GAME 7 AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Sharks forced a Game 7 with a 2-1 double-overtime win in Vegas on Sunday night. Tomas Hertl scored shorthanded midway through the second overtime to life San Jose to victory, while goaltender Martin Jones had a career-high and franchise-record 58 saves in the win. San Jose will host tonight’s Game 7 which will also be the first-ever Game 7 in Golden Knights history. San Jose has won two straight games to avoid elimination and the winner of tonight’s Game 7 will face the Colorado Avalanche in the Second Round.
Analyst Jeremy Roenick on Martin Jones: “Martin Jones has shown he can play in really big situations and Game 6 was no different. I thought it was the best game I’ve ever seen him play. He shut the door and gave his team the will to win.”
GAME 6 MATCHUPS DELIVER OVERNIGHT RATINGS INCREASES
Last night’s two Game 6 matchups delivered overnight rating increases vs. the comparable games last year. Carolina’s 5-2 home victory over Washington delivered a 0.81 overnight rating on NBCSN, the second-best cable rating of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs to date and up 14% vs. Boston-Toronto Game 6 last year (0.71). Game 7 will be played tomorrow night at Washington at 7:30 pm ET on NBCSN. NHL Live begins at 6:30 pm ET.
Dallas’ 2-1 overtime victory over Nashville produced a 0.48 overnight on CNBC, up 20% vs. Washington-Columbus Game 6 last year (0.40). Dallas moves on to face St. Louis in the Second Round.
WEDNESDAY AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – GAME 7 – (WC1) CAROLINA HURRICANES AT (1) WASHINGTON CAPITALS
The Hurricanes avoided elimination and forced a Game 7 on Monday night with a 5-2 win against the Capitals in Game 6 in Raleigh. Jordan Staal and Dougie Hamilton each had a goal and an assist in the effort, while Warren Foegele, Justin Williams, and Teuvo Teravainen also scored for Carolina. Hurricanes goalie Petr Mrazek made 23 saves in the Game 6 victory. The home team has won every game in the series, which shifts to Washington for Game 7 on Wednesday night.
