STAMFORD, Conn. – April 22, 2019 – NBC Sports presents a pair of Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 6 matchups tonight on NBCSN and CNBC, beginning at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when Alex Ovechkin and the (1) Washington Capitals attempt to advance to the Second Round with a victory against Justin Williams and the (WC1) Carolina Hurricanes. Washington leads the series 3-2. Pre-game coverage on NBCSN begins at 6 p.m. ET with NHL Live.

Tonight’s game coverage on CNBC begins at 8:30 p.m. ET, when Jamie Benn and the (WC1) Dallas Stars look to advance to the Second Round with a Game 6 win against P.K. Subban and the (1) Nashville Predators. Pre-game coverage on CNBC begins at 8 p.m. ET with NHL Live.

(1) WASHINGTON CAPITALS AT (WC1) CAROLINA HURRICANES – GAME 6 AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN –
WASHINGTON LEADS 3-2

The Capitals took a 3-2 series lead with a dominant 6-0 win in Game 5 on Saturday night in Washington on NBC. Nicklas Backstrom recorded two goals and two assists and Alex Ovechkin had a goal and two assists for the Capitals. Backstrom has five goals in five games this postseason, matching his total from the entire 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Braden Holtby recorded his seventh career playoff shutout, passing Olie Kolzig for the most in Capitals franchise history. The series shifts to Raleigh tonight for Game 6, where Carolina won Games 3 and 4. The home team has won all five games thus far in the series.


(1) NASHVILLE PREDATORS AT (WC1) DALLAS STARS – GAME 6 AT 8:30 P.M. ET ON CNBC – DALLAS LEADS 3-2

The Stars took a 3-2 series lead with a 5-3 win in Game 5 in Nashville on Saturday on NBC. Dallas’ top line of Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov combined for three goals and four assists to lead the Stars to victory in Game 5 and has tallied 16 points (7g/9a) through the series’ first five games. Conversely, Nashville’s top line of Filip Forsberg, Ryan Johansen, and Viktor Arvidsson has struggled to produce, totaling just two goals and two assists through five games.


TUESDAY GAME 7 DOUBLEHEADER ON NBCSN

NBC Sports will present a Game 7 doubleheader tomorrow on NBCSN, beginning at 7 p.m. ET, when the (2) Boston Bruins host the (3) Toronto Maple Leafs. Pre-game coverage on NBCSN begins at 6 p.m. ET with NHL Live. Boston forced Tuesday’s Game 7 with a 4-2 win in Toronto on Sunday on NBC.

Coverage shifts west at 10 p.m. ET with Game 7 between the (2) San Jose Sharks at (3) Vegas Golden Knights. San Jose forced Game 7 with wins in Games 5 and 6, including a 2-1 double overtime win in Vegas on Sunday night on NBCSN.
