NBCSN Presents Coverage of the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix Starting This Sat., March 9 at 11:30 p.m. ET

STAMFORD, Conn. – March 6, 2019 – U.S. Olympic gold medalists Mikaela Shiffrin and Caeleb Dressel return to competition this week, headlining extensive Olympic sports programming across NBC Sports.

Shiffrin hits the slopes in Spindleruv Mlyn, Czech Republic, for the final weekend of races before the alpine skiing World Cup Finals. The three-time Olympic medalist is currently tied with Vreni Schneider for the most single-season World Cup wins (14), and her next win will break the 30-year record. Shiffrin also aims to clinch her first career World Cup giant slalom title this weekend. She has already secured her third straight World Cup overall title and her sixth career World Cup slalom title.

Live coverage of the giant slalom begins Friday, March 8 at 4:30 a.m. ET OlympicChannel.com and NBC Sports Gold’s “Snow Pass” and continues at 7:30 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. Shiffrin will also compete in a slalom race on Saturday, March 9, with live coverage on NBC Sports Gold’s “Snow Pass” beginning at 4:30 a.m. ET and continuing at 7:30 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.

On the men’s side, two-time Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety and two-time Olympian Tommy Ford are expected to lead the Americans in giant slalom in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia on Saturday, March 9. Live coverage begins at 3:30 a.m. ET on NBC Sports Gold’s “Snow Pass” and continues at 6:30 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.

“Snow Pass” gives fans access to live and on-demand domestic and international competitions of seven Olympic winter sports through April 2019, including all events of the Alpine Skiing World Cup. In addition, the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series continues in Des Moines, Iowa this week for the second of five stops across the country over the next several months. Two-time Olympic gold medalist Dressel, who won a record-tying seven gold medals at the 2017 World Championships, is expected to compete. Eight-time Olympic medalist Allison Schmitt and 100m backstroke world record holder Kathleen Baker are also scheduled to race in Des Moines.

Jason Knapp calls the action, joined by analyst and three-time Olympic gold medalist Rowdy Gaines from the MidAmerican Energy Aquatic Center at the Wellmark YMCA.

TOYOTA U.S. GRAND PRIX – MAMMOTH, CA

LIVE COVERAGE BEGINS FRIDAY, MARCH 8 AT 12:30 P.M. ET ON NBC SPORTS GOLD’S “SNOW PASS”

Several of the world’s top freestyle skiers and snowboarders head to Mammoth Mountain in California this week, where halfpipe and slopestyle events will be contested in the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix. Joss Christensen, Gus Kenworthy, and Nick Goepper, who swept the 2014 Olympic ski slopestyle podium, are expected to lead a strong U.S. team. Two-time Olympic ski halfpipe gold medalist David Wise and Sochi halfpipe champion Maddie Bowman are also expected to compete.

TV coverage begins this Saturday, March 9 at 11:30 p.m. ET with the snowboarding slopestyle on NBCSN. All events on the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix in Mammoth are available to stream live on NBCSports.com.

WORLD BOBSLED AND SKELETON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – WHISTLER, BRITISH COLUMBIA

TV COVERAGE CONTINUES TOMORROW, MARCH 7 AT NOON ET ON OLYMPIC CHANNEL: HOME OF TEAM USA

The bobsled and skeleton World Championships continue this weekend at the site of the 2010 Olympic sliding competitions in Whistler, British Columbia. PyeongChang Olympian Codie Bascue has had the best results for the U.S. men this season in bobsled. Meanwhile, 2018 Olympian Kendall Wesenberg ranks as the top American in women’s skeleton after earning the first World Cup medal for a U.S. skeleton athlete in more than two years at the World Cup event in Lake Placid.

SPEED SKATING WORLD CUP FINALS – SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH

The speed skating World Cup season concludes this weekend with the World Cup Finals at the Utah Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City. PyeongChang Olympic team pursuit bronze medalist Brittany Bowe is expected to lead the Americans as she attempts to clinch the season-long titles in the 1000m and 1500m. Two-time mass start world champion Joey Mantia will likely lead the U.S. men.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING WORLD CUP – OSLO, NORWAY

The cross-country skiing World Cup continues this weekend with two distance races in Oslo, Norway. The men will race in a 50km mass start on Saturday and the women will compete in a 30km mass start on Sunday. Olympic gold medalist Jessie Diggins finished second in this race last season in the freestyle format (this year’s race will be a classical format). Erik Bjornsen is the top-ranked U.S. skier in the men’s World Cup distance rankings.

SKI JUMPING WORLD CUP – RAW AIR TOURNAMENT

The ski jumping World Cup season continues with the third annual Raw Air Tournament, which takes place in four different cities in Norway over the course of ten days. For the first time, women will compete in the tournament this year.
