Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge Begins Saturday, Jan. 26 Live at Noon ET on NBC Sports Gold’s “Track and Field Pass”

New Balance Indoor Grand Prix Starts Saturday, Jan. 26 Live at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN & NBC Sports Gold’s “Track and Field Pass”

STAMFORD, Conn. – January 23, 2019 – NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 2019 USATF Indoor and Outdoor Championship series kicks off with a pair of events this Saturday, Jan. 26. The Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge from the Armory Track in New York City is first up at noon ET on NBC Sports Gold’s “Track and Field Pass.” Then at 5 p.m. ET, live coverage of the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix from the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston begins on NBCSN & NBC Sports Gold’s “Track and Field Pass.”

Coverage of the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge will feature star athletes in 13 professional events, including 800m American record holder Ajee Wilson. In addition to NBC Sports Gold’s “Track and Field Pass”, live coverage of the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge will be available on USATF.TV.

2016 Rio Olympic 400m hurdler Sydney McLaughlin will make her professional debut at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. She announced her decision to turn pro following her freshman year at University of Kentucky, where she won the NCAA title in the 400m hurdles. McLaughlin made her Olympic debut in the event in Rio after her junior year of high school.

Reigning world steeplechase champion Emma Coburn and 2016 Olympic 1500m bronze medalist Jenny Simpson will also compete, along with Rio 800m bronze medalist Clayton Murphy.

The event kicks off the IAAF World Indoor Tour, a series of six international events with stops in Germany (2x), Poland, Spain and Great Britain. Overall tour winners earn $20,000 and a guaranteed spot at the 2020 World Indoor Championships.

Track and field analyst Ato Boldon will call the competition on NBCSN, joined by Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross, distance analyst Craig Masback, and reporters Paul Swangard and Lewis Johnson.  Rob Vermillion and Olympic silver medalist Manteo Mitchell will call the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge on NBC Sports Gold.
