Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA Presents Live Coverage of Gold Medal Match on Sun., Jan. 27 at 11:30 a.m. ET; With Encore on NBCSN at Midnight ET on Monday, Jan. 28
STAMFORD, Conn. – January 15, 2019 – NBC Sports presents 18 hours of live coverage of the IHF World Men’s Handball Championship starting Saturday, Jan. 19 at Noon ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.
This year’s World Men’s Handball Championship is hosted by two nations for the first time, with Germany and Denmark splitting the role. Historically dominated by European nations, the World Handball Championships are held every two years in a round-robin format followed by knock-out semifinals and finals. France is the defending champion.
Live coverage begins on Saturday, featuring the top 12 qualifiers from the preliminary round. Live TV coverage will continue through Sun., Jan. 27 with the gold medal game at 11:30 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. NBCSN will air an encore presentation of the gold medal match on Monday, Jan. 28 at midnight E.T.
