STAMFORD, Conn. – January 7, 2019 – Five-time Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky, four-time Olympic medalist Simone Manuel, and three-time Olympic champion Ryan Murphy are expected to compete this week at the first stop of the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series, with NBC Sports’ live coverage beginning Thursday, Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. Jason Knapp calls the action, joined by analyst and three-time Olympic gold medalist Rowdy Gaines from Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center in Knoxville, TN.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will broadcast finals live at 6 p.m. ET on both Thursday and Friday, with NBCSN offering coverage later both nights. Saturday’s finals can be live streamed on the NBC Sports App. Preliminary coverage and the timed finals on Wednesday, January 9 can be streamed online at usaswimming.org.

Headlining NBC Sports’ coverage is five-time Olympic gold medalist Ledecky, who holds world records in the 400-meter, 800-meter and 1500-meter freestyles, and won the TYR Pro Swim Series 2018 overall title. She is joined by Manuel, who won four medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics and became the first African American woman to win an individual Olympic gold medal in swimming, and Murphy, who won three gold medals in the 100m back, 200m back, and 400m medley relay at the 2016 Rio Olympics.  Manuel will compete in seven events this week, while Murphy will swim in five races.

Other notable Americans competing this week include six-time Olympic medalist Matt Grevers and Olympic medalist and world champion Chase Kalisz. Eligible swimmers can earn prize money for top-three finishes in individual Olympic events at each stop of the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series. After Knoxville, the TYR Pro Swim Series will make four additional stops through June in Des Moines, IA, Richmond, VA, Bloomington, IN, and Fresno, CA.
