STAMFORD, Conn. – December 11, 2018 – With three TV ratings weeks left in the year, NBCSN has already secured multiple milestones in 2018, based on Nielsen live plus same day data:

  • NBCSN will deliver its best year ever in Total Day and Primetime viewership.
  • NBCSN is on pace to rank as the #2 sports cable network in both Total Day and Primetime viewership – a high for the network AND the first time any network other than ESPN2 will finish second.

In addition, NBC Sports Group’s Golf Channel is currently delivering its most-watched year since its record-setting 2013. The network is averaging 111,000 Total Day viewers (6 a.m.-6 a.m.) through Dec. 9 – up 10% from the full 2017 average (101,000), and on par with its record 2013 season (108,000), which featured Monday final rounds on Golf Channel for three of Tiger Woods’ five PGA TOUR wins. On a Total Audience Delivery basis (including streaming), Golf Channel is on pace to surpass its 2013 viewership.

NBCSN’s historic 2018 performance was buoyed by record viewership for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games and a strong lineup spanning all dayparts with exclusive coverage of the NHL, NASCAR, Premier League, IndyCar, Tour de France, rugby, horse racing, and Olympic and college sports.

NBCSN is averaging a record 414,000 primetime viewers (8-11 p.m.) through Dec. 9 – up 33% from the full 2017 figure (311,000), and up 8% from the network’s prior record set in 2016, which featured the Rio Olympics (383,000).

NBCSN is averaging a record 191,000 Total Day viewers (6 a.m.-6 a.m.) through Dec. 9 – a 40% increase from the full 2017 average (136,000), and up 14% from the previous record set in 2016 (168,000), which featured the Rio Olympics highlighted by far more favorable live daytime event hours.

NBCSN’s exclusive live coverage of the NHL and the Premier League continues throughout December.
