Jessica Korda/Michelle Wie (USA) def. Moriya Jutanugarn/Pornanong Phatlum (THA) 6&4

Kay Cockerill – “Jessica’s putter is much, much warmer today than it was yesterday.”

Cockerill – “She told me, ‘I feel like I can predict the weather by how my bones feel.’ I told her, ‘You’ve always been a bit mature for your age, haven’t you.’

Cockerill – “Michelle’s swing changes are good and she has made changes that has allowed her to hit the ball without a lot of pain. Taking her hands out of the swing, a more passive swing with her hands.”

Tom Abbott – “There is no let up with this team today.”

Cockerill – They never looked panicked yesterday or got out of sorts. That is a testament to their respect and friendship for each other and the fact that they knew they could turn it around. Even though they didn’t win yesterday, that positive energy came forward to today.”

Jessica Korda and Michelle Wie speaking with Golf Channel’s Kay Cockerill following their victory

Michelle Wie – “It got pretty cold and pretty miserable out there. It got really, really hard making the turn. No. 9 played like a par-5 today.”

Jessica Korda – “It was nasty out there. But we wanted to close it out early and that is exactly what we did. We never let up.”

Wie – “On days like today, Korda hit the ball really well. On those long holes this was definitely to our advantage. There was a lot of holes today that were really long and wasn’t reachable for them. So in these conditions, it definitely played to our advantage.

Korda – “We just never stopped believing in each other. We knew that if we made some birdies we could dig ourselves out. I honestly had no idea we were 4-down, I found out after the round when I was looking at our scorecard. I was really proud of us kind of just always hanging in there and just waiting for our opportunity.”

Cristie Kerr/Lexi Thompson (USA) def. Ariya Jutanugarn/Sherman Santiwiwattahanaphong (THA) 4&3

Karen Stupples – “I think Cristie is the best green reader in the business. She has 100 percent belief and confidence in her putting.”

Stupples – “The confidence that she brings to the table just runs into whatever partner she has.”

Peter Donegan – “What a dominant display from the United States. This is a match they were in command of all of the way.”

Anna Nordqvist/Caroline Hedwall (SWE) def. Misuzu Narita/Mamiko Higa (JPN) 6&4

Kate Burton – “She has the body language that she could walk through a wall.”

Donegan – “That was an insane performance. Completely dominant.”

Donegan – “Match play seems to be made for Caroline Hedwall.”

Bronte Law/Jodi Ewart Shadoff (ENG) def. Candie Kung/Phoebe Yao (TPE) 6&4

Stupples – “They are both just such fighters. They love being in this battle. They love going head-to-head. They love the mind games of match play that you can play. The game within the game. Everything about it.”

So Yeon Ryu/In Gee Chun (KOR) def. Minjee Lee/Sarah Jane Smith (AUS) 2&1

Donegan – “A mighty big sigh of relief for the Koreans. They were challenged as the stretch was approaching. Like the great players do, when challenged, they found the answers.”

Burton – “That was no picnic. A tremendous win by Korea.”

So Yeon Ryu and In Gee Chun speaking with Golf Channel’s Kay Cockerill following their victory

So Yeon Ryu – In general In Gee played so well today. I just kept telling In Gee this was our game, not their game. We were really encouraging each other. On the back nine, I think my concentration level was a little low. I had a lot of bad shots but In Gee was grinding really well. So I was happy that I could help her out on the 17th.

In Gee Chun – “I thought my shots were not really well today, but I just kept trying to keep thinking positive things on the course and those helped a little bit.

Ryu – “As soon as the UL International Crown announced the 2018 venue was going to be in Korea, we started to get really nervous about it. Obviously when you are playing in your homeland you can have benefits but you also have all of that extra pressure. That was a tough thing to deal with. But yesterday, we played with the huge crowds and we realized this has more benefits instead of pressure so we have really enjoyed it. Hopefully we can have a really good performance in front of them and make them happy come Sunday.”

Su Oh/Katherine Kirk (AUS) def. Sung Hyun Park/In-Kyung Kim (KOR) 4&2

Donegan – “Listen to the reaction of the Korean crowd. The Australians take two points.”

Burton – “That is an astonishing win. You wouldn’t have bet on that the beginning of the week. Listen for the silence. That was what the Australians were listening for.”

Donegan – “That was a groan that went through the crowd.”
