STAMFORD, Conn. – August 22, 2018 – A Ferrari 250 replica from the 1986 hit comedy film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Alexander Rossi’s 2012 Indianapolis 500-winning IndyCar, and numerous multi-million vehicles will cross the auction block this week in Monterey, Calif., as NBC Sports presents more than 30 hours of comprehensive coverage of Mecum Auctions: Monterey, beginning tonight at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

This week’s auction from the Del Monte Golf Course in Monterey, Calif., will feature roughly 600 classic and collector vehicles, headlined by the Ferrari 250 replica used in the cult classic movie starring Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller) and Alan Ruck (Cameron Frye), which will be auctioned off live on NBC on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. One of three vehicles used during the movie, the Ferrari 250 replica is in fact a 1985 Modena GT Spyder California, built and designed in El Cajon, Calif.

Mecum Auctions: Monterey, renowned as one of the most popular auto auctions in the world, will also feature one of only 39 built Porsche 550A Spyders, a three-time race winner in 1958, and a Dallara DW12 Honda IndyCar, the winning car of the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 driven by Rossi in 2016.

In addition, numerous vehicles that can eclipse or approach $1 million include: a 2017 Lamborhini Centenario LP770-4, 2014 Pagani Huarya, and a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing.

NBC Sports will present more than 30 hours of coverage from Monterey, beginning tonight with live coverage of Mecum Monterey: Countdown to the Block at 8 p.m. ET. Live coverage continues with an eight-hour window on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET, followed by a three-hour window on Friday at 2 p.m. ET. Live coverage from Monterey switches to NBC at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday and at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday on NBCSN.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets and connected TVs – will stream this week’s Mecum Auctions coverage.

Scott Hoke will host coverage on-site in Monterey, alongside analysts John Kraman and Stephen Cox, and reporters Bill Stephens and Katie Osborne. IndyCar analyst Townsend Bell and former F1 mechanic Steve Matchett will also contribute to NBC Sports’ coverage form Monterey throughout the week.
