On Brooks Koepka, 2018 PGA Championship winner at 16-under par (4-under 66 on Sunday)

Rich Lerner – “He is not interested in the limelight. Just interested in winning championships. Major championships.”

Lerner – “This was not just a major. This was a classic. Koepka didn’t just win. He beat a legend.

David Duval – “It makes your head spin to see the player he has propelled himself into. Just an absolute superstar. The ease with which he plays the game. The power that he drives the golf ball. The deft touch that he has with his wedges and irons around the greens. It is an entirely a total package.”

Duval – “It looks like he is going to crush the shaft with his hands and he is going to knock the ball and split it in half. He just looks like an absolute monster out there on the golf course.”

Frank Nobilo – “His performance was amazing. It is strength. It is touch. But it is nerve too. His ability to stay calm. Refused to give up the top of the leaderboard, no matter what people threw at him. He has was won 50% of his last six major starts. Superstar.”

Brandel Chamblee – “Brooks Koepka had the hammer. And he put the hammer down today.”

Chamblee – “Enormous pressure on him. The hardest thing to do in the game is to hit it long and straight. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody do it so stress free.”

Duval – “Incredibly impressive. I believe what his caddie said to him was a great piece of advice, ‘Play like you’re losing.’ Kind of puts you in a frame of mind of hunting, if you will, on the golf course.”

Duval – “What this young man did, bowing up, in essence, and rising to the moment, is what you expect from your champions.”

100th PGA Championship winner Brooks Koepka speaking with Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis following his victory

Brooks Koepka – “I definitely knew on the back side that I had to pick it up a little bit to keep it going. You definitely heard Tiger’s roars. The fans, you can tell right away. They are quite loud, especially when he is making birdies. Playing with Adam Scott kind of helped a little bit. You knew what he was doing and what I was up against. To do it in this fashion with playing against Tiger and Scotty down to the wire there it is really incredible. I really can’t put it into words.”

Koepka – “I just went out and did what I was supposed to do. Got off to a little bit of a rocky start. Missing a short one and making a bogey there got me a little more refocused. Settled me in a little bit and got to what I was supposed to do. I knew I had chances. It is one of those things that I’m going to go out and play the best that I can and not worry about anybody else.”

Koepka – “I’ll take this summer. If only this would happen every year.”

On Tiger Woods, 2nd at 14-under par (6-under 64 on Sunday)

Lerner – “He didn’t win, but you’d never know it. His final round 64 is his lowest ever at a major.”

Chamblee – “I don’t think anybody could imagine Tiger Woods climbing his way back into this arena and performing the way he has, not only this week but the entire year. To see him chisel his way back into form and to have a short game again. Not only is it a good short game, it is a phenomenal short game. He has completely blown me away with what he has done this year.”

Duval – “None of us had any idea of how his body would hold up with 8-10 months of professional golf. Remarkable is the best way to put it. Absolutely stunning turn of events in the last 12 months for Tiger Woods in the game of golf and his golf game.”

Nobilo – “We have said, ‘Well maybe one day he will come back and compete.’ That day was today. It was unbelievable.”
