Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA to Air Documentary “We Are One” Chronicling Unified Korean Team at PyeongChang Olympics Tomorrow Night

STAMFORD, Conn. – July 23, 2018 – July 24 marks two years until the Opening Ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and NBC Sports will celebrate the occasion with a week of Olympic sport programming across NBC, NBCSN, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, and numerous digital platforms that features some of Team USA’s brightest stars. Tokyo, which hosted the Olympics in 1964, will host the Games in 2020 for the second time.

NBC Sports will present more than 20 hours of combined coverage of swimming’s 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships, gymnastics’ 2018 U.S. Classic, and cycling’s 105th Tour de France.

Five-time Olympic swimming gold medalist Katie Ledecky, seven-time swimming world champion Caeleb Dressel, four-time Olympic gymnastics gold medalist Simone Biles, and Olympic cycling gold medalist Greg Van Avermaet headline a strong contingent of decorated Olympians expected to compete over the next seven days.

In addition, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will air an hour-long documentary entitled “We Are One,” which chronicles the Unified Korean Team at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, where the two countries marched together during the Opening Ceremony and competed collectively in women’s ice hockey, tomorrow at 9 p.m. ET.

2018 PHILLIPS 66 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – LIVE COVERAGE BEGINS WEDNESDAY AT 9 P.M. ET ON OLYMPIC CHANNEL: HOME OF TEAM USA

The 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships serve as a qualifier for the Pan Pacific Championships in August and will feature several decorated swimmers, headlined by Ledecky, Dressel, five-time Olympic champion Missy Franklin, two-time gold medalist Simone Manuel, two-time Olympic gold medalist Lilly King, five-time Olympic gold medalist Nathan Adrian and three-time Rio gold medalist Ryan Murphy. Results from the national championships and August’s Pan Pacific Championships will determine the U.S. roster for next year’s World Championships.

The event is part of the 2018 Team USA Summer Champions Series, presented by Xfinity, which consists of five events this year, concluding with the U.S. Gymnastics Championships Aug. 16-19.

OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST SIMONE BILES RETURNS TO COMPETITION THIS WEEKEND ON NBC & OLYMPIC CHANNEL: HOME OF TEAM USA

Four-time Olympic gymnastics gold medalist Simone Biles returns to competition for the first time since the 2016 Rio Olympics, as NBC Sports presents live coverage of the 2018 U.S. Classic from Columbus, Ohio, this Saturday, July 28, at 8 p.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. Coverage will air Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC.

Biles, who has the most gold medals of any American female gymnast at the Olympics, last competed at the Rio Games, where she earned five medals overall. The three-time world all-around champion is scheduled to compete on all four events in Columbus and headlines a strong contingent of distinguished U.S. gymnasts, including 2017 world all-around champion Morgan Hurd and reigning U.S. all-around champion Ragan Smith.

Olympic gold medalist Greg Van Avermaet (Belgium – BMC Racing Team) and two-time Olympic medalist and four-time Tour de France general classification winner Chris Froome (England – Team Sky) highlight NBC Sports’ coverage of the 105th Tour de France this week across NBC, NBCSN and NBC Sports Gold. Froome and Van Avermaet currently sit in second and 15th, respectively, in the overall standings.

OLYMPIC CHANNEL: HOME OF TEAM USA AIRS “WE ARE ONE” DOCUMENTARY TOMORROW AT 9 P.M. ET

The hour-long documentary tells the story of the Unified Korean Team at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, where the two countries marched together during the Opening Ceremony and competed collectively in women’s ice hockey. “We Are One” includes behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive interviews with ice hockey player Marissa Brandt, IOC President Thomas Bach, and Ban Ki-moon, 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, among others.
