STAMFORD, Conn. – May 9, 2018 – NBC Sports Group will present daily live coverage of the 2018 Amgen Tour of California, beginning this Sunday, May 13, at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN and culminating with the final stage on Saturday, May 19 at 3 p.m. ET on NBC. In addition, daily live coverage of the race will be streamed with NBC Sports Gold’s “Cycling Pass,” as well as on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

The Amgen Tour of California covers 645 miles of roadways, highways and coastlines during seven stages from Long Beach to Sacramento. Known for dramatic sprinting showdowns, three of the sport’s greatest are confirmed to race this year: 30-time Tour de France stage winner Mark Cavendish (Team Dimension Data), Marcel Kittel (Team Katusha Alpecin) and Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe), winner of the last three world championships, who also holds the California race record for most stage wins (16). They will be joined by American Tejay van Garderen (BMC Racing Team), who won the race in 2013.

NBC Sports Group will air highlights of the women’s race throughout its coverage of the 2018 Amgen Tour of California, and will present a comprehensive recap show of the women’s race on Wednesday, May 23, at 1 a.m. ET on NBCSN.

Highlighting the women’s field are a pair of Americans, 2016 Giro d’Italia Femminile winner Megan Guarnier (Boels–Dolmans), who won this race in 2016, and Katie Hall (UnitedHealthcare), who finished second in California last year, missing the overall title by one second.

Phil Liggett calls the action on NBCSN and NBC Sports Gold joined by analysts Paul Sherwen and 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge winner Christian Vande Velde. NBCSN’s coverage will also feature analyst and reporter Jens Voigt, who has three top-10 Amgen Tour of California finishes, reporter Bob Roll, and ‘Inside-the-Race’ correspondent Steve Porino, who will report from aboard a motorcycle on the course, and offer updates on race situations.
