STAMFORD, Conn. – September 12, 2017 – This week’s coverage on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA – a partnership between the International Olympic Committee, the United States Olympic Committee, and NBCUniversal – is highlighted by FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup, as well as the International Olympic Committee Session live from Lima, Peru, to confirm the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games host cities.

In addition, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will begin coverage of the UCI Road Cycling World Championships from Bergen, Norway, and present live coverage of the men’s and women’s ITU World Triathlon Grand Final from Rotterdam, Netherlands.

FIVB MEN’S VOLLEYBALL WORLD GRAND CHAMPIONS CUP

Live coverage of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup continues from Japan on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA tonight at 11:30 p.m. ET. The tournament – one of the biggest on the international circuit this season – brings together the winners of four of the five continental championships to find out who is the “Champion of Champions.”

2016 Olympic bronze medalists Matt Anderson, Aaron Russell and Max Holt look to lead the United States to its first World Grand Champions Cup win. The Americans, fresh off a 3-set win over host Japan, face Iran Wednesday at 2:30 a.m. ET.


IOC SESSION – LIMA, PERU

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will present live coverage of the International Olympic Committee Session in Lima, Peru, tomorrow at Noon ET. The session features the confirmation of Paris and Los Angeles as the respective host cities for the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games after a tripartite agreement between the two cities and the IOC was reached in July. Both Paris and Los Angeles will give presentations before IOC members vote to ratify the agreement, and then the mayors of each city will sign their respective Host City Contracts.


ITU WORLD TRIATHLON GRAND FINAL

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents live coverage of the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final – the last race of the World Triathlon Series season – from Rotterdam, Netherlands, this Saturday with the men’s race at 7 a.m. ET, followed by the women’s race at 10 a.m. ET.

Notable Americans slated to compete include 2016 Olympian Ben Kanute on the men’s side, and 2016 Olympian Katie Zaferes and Kirsten Kasper – fourth and fifth, respectively, in this season’s World Triathlon Series rankings – on the women’s. Zaferes looks to build upon a strong season that has already seen her make the podium twice at World Triathlon Series events.


UCI ROAD CYCLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA begins its coverage of the 90th edition of the UCI Road Cycling World Championships with the women’s team time trial Sunday, September 17, at 6 a.m. ET. Running through Sunday, September 24, the UCI Road Cycling World Championships features a 26-mile team time trial course beginning in Ravnanger and goes south across the fjords to end in Bergen.

American Tejay van Garderen headlines the BMC Racing team – which won the team time trial at this month’s Vuelta a Espana – along with fellow American Joseph Rosskopf. Olympians Amber Neben (Team VeloCONCEPT Women) and Megan Guarnier (Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team), who finished third in the road race at 2015 Worlds, will compete as well.


UCI CYCLO-CROSS WORLD CUP

The UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup season kicks off Sunday, September 17, from Iowa City, Iowa, with the Jingle Cross live on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA at 3 p.m. ET. Cyclo-Cross, a non-Olympic discipline, combines cycling, steeplechase and NASCAR all into one, with athletes racing around a circuit course with steep hills, difficult descents, mud, grass, sand and dirt.

Two-time reigning world champion Wout van Aert of Belgium will look to defend his World Cup title, taking on U.S. champion Stephen Hyde. On the women’s side, 13-time U.S. champion Katie Compton goes for a second straight Iowa City World Cup win.
