STAMFORD, Conn. – September 7, 2017 – NBC Sports Group’s motorsports coverage this weekend features a wide variety of events, highlighted by more than 15 hours of Mecum Auctions coverage from Dallas on NBCSN, a pair of Red Bull Global RallyCross races from Seattle on NBC, and high-flying Red Bull Air Race action from Portugal on NBC.

This week’s coverage also includes NBCSN Overdrive, the network’s Thursday night primetime motorsports block, highlighted by American Flat Track racing from Calistoga Speedway and Rolling Wheels Raceway, beginning tonight at 10 p.m. ET.

In addition, NBC Sports Group will provide comprehensive coverage of this weekend’s NASCAR XFINITY and Cup Series races from Richmond Raceway.


MORE THAN 15 HOURS OF MECUM AUCTIONS: DALLAS COVERAGE BEGINS TODAYAT NOON ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN’s coverage of the 2017 Mecum Auctions season rolls into Dallas this weekend with more than 15 hours of coverage beginning today at noon ET. An estimated 1,000 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, Hot Rods, Resto Mods and more are set to cross the auction block.

This is the seventh year that Mecum Auctions has staged a collector-car auction in Dallas with results from past years’ Dallas auctions reaching as much as $38 million. Among the main-attraction consignments for Mecum Dallas 2017 is the 33-vehicle Bruce Church Collection that was amassed over the course of nearly 35 years and includes a stunning fleet of high-quality prewar classics, several Street Rods and even a few modern vehicles. Highlights from the assemblage include several comprehensively restored CCCA Full Classic and AACA Senior award-winning Packards, among them a 1934 Packard Eight 1101 Coupe Roadster that was displayed at the Boca Raton Concours in 2011 and a 1932 Packard Eight 902 Coupe.

Scott Hoke will host NBCSN’s Mecum Auctions coverage on-site in Dallas, Texas, alongside analysts John Kraman, Stephen Cox, Bill Stephens, and reporter Katie Osborne. Mecum Auctions is led by Dana Mecum, Founder and President of Mecum Auctions for the past 29 years.

RED BULL GLOBAL RALLYCROSS: SEATTLE – SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AT 4:30 P.M. ET ON NBC

NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2017 Red Bull Global RallyCross Championship continues this weekend with the dual in Seattle on Saturday and Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Scott Speed (Volkswagen Andretti; 616 points), Steve Arpin (Loenbro Motorsports); 578 points), and Tanner Foust (Volkswagen Andretti; 575 points) are battling atop the championship standings with just three races remaining in the season.

Leigh Diffey (play-by-play), Townsend Bell (analyst), and Will Christien (reporter) will call the action from Evergreen Speedway outside of Seattle, Wash.

RED BULL AIR RACE: PORTUGAL – SUNDAY AT 3 P.M. ET ON NBC

The high-flying action of Red Bull Air Race comes to NBC this Sunday at 3 p.m. ET with coverage from their event in Portugal, which took place on the weekend of Sept. 2-3.

The Red Bull Air Race features the world’s best racing pilots in a pure motorsport competition that combines speed, precision and skill. Using the fastest, most agile, lightweight raceplanes, pilots hit speeds in excess of 200 mph, while enduring forces of up to 10G as they navigate a low level slalom track marked by air-filled pylons reaching more than 80 feet in the air.

NBCSN OVERDRIVE THURSDAY MOTORSPORTS BLOCK BEGINS THIS WEEK, INCLUDING AMERICAN FLAT TRACK RACING AT 10 P.M. ET

NBCSN Overdrive, the network’s Thursday night primetime motorsports block, continues this week, highlighted this week by American Flat Track racing from the Rolling Wheels Raceway and Calistoga Speedway, beginning tonight at 10 p.m. ET.

The weekly, primetime block will include six unique series and more than 40 hours of premiere programming, featuring new seasons of Grudge Race and Journey to the Hammers. American Flat Track, widely regarded as the most prestigious and competitive form of dirt track motorcycle racing in the world, will be featured most Thursdays on Overdrive at 10 p.m. ET.
