STAMFORD, Conn. – July 17, 2017 – Programming on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA — a partnership between the International Olympic Committee, the United States Olympic Committee, and NBCUniversal — is highlighted this week by live coverage of the 2017 FINA World Aquatics Championships from Budapest, Hungary; World Para Athletics Championships from London, England; live FIVB World Grand Prix women’s volleyball matches from Cuiaba, Brazil; and FIE World Fencing Championships from Leipzig, Germany.

This week’s coverage will also include a 2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony Special tomorrow, Tuesday, July 18, at 8 p.m. ET, hosted by Bob Costas and Matt Lauer. In addition, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will feature encore presentations of the Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA Launch Special hosted by Mike Tirico, and original programming produced by the IOC’s global Olympic Channel this week.

Following are highlights from this week’s programming on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA:

FINA WORLD AQUATICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

This week’s presentation of the FINA World Aquatics Championships on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA includes diving, open water swimming, swimming, synchronized swimming, and water polo.

In water polo, coverage of the U.S. men’s team facing Croatia in the preliminary round airs tonight at 6 p.m. ET, while coverage of the first match for the U.S. women, the reigning Olympic women’s water polo champions, versus Spain, airs tomorrow at 4 p.m. ET. Coverage of the tournament continues throughout the week, with the women’s quarterfinal matches taking place on Monday, July 24.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will present coverage of the open water swimming event at 4 p.m. ET tomorrow through Friday, July 21. Live open water swimming coverage culminates with the men’s and women’s 25km final this Friday, July 21, at 2:30 a.m. ET.

Live diving coverage continues tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. ET with the women’s 10-meter platform semifinal, followed by the men’s 3-meter springboard semifinal, featuring U.S. Olympic medalists Steele Johnson and Michael Hixon, Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. ET. Coverage continues Thursday with the women’s 3-meter springboard semifinal at 9:30 a.m. ET, and the men’s 3-meter springboard final at 12:30 p.m. ET. The men’s 10-meter platform semifinal will air Friday at 11a.m., followed by the women’s 3-meter springboard final at 12:30 p.m. ET. This week’s live diving coverage concludes Saturday, July 22, with the mixed synchronized springboard final at 8 a.m. ET, and the men’s 10-meter platform final at 11 a.m. ET.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA continues coverage of the synchronized swimming competition tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. ET, with the team technical final. Coverage continues throughout the week, culminating with the free combination final on Saturday live at 5 a.m. ET.

In addition, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents live daily coverage of swimming beginning at 3:30 a.m. ET on Sunday and Monday.

Highlighting the field for Team USA are Katie Ledecky, who won five medals, including four gold, at the 2016 Rio Olympics; two-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Manuel; and Rio 100m breaststroke champion Lilly King. The men’s field features eight-time Olympic medalist Nathan Adrian and Caeleb Dressel, who won gold with Team USA in the men’s 4×100m freestyle relay and 4×100m medley relay in Rio. Ledecky’s busy schedule begins on Sunday with the 400m free and 4x100m freestyle relay.

 Nick Gismondi (play-by-play) and Julie Swail (analyst) will provide commentary for the water polo action; Bill Doleman (play-by-play) and Cynthia Potter (analyst) will handle diving coverage; Mike McMann (play-by-play) and Andrea Holland (analyst) will call synchronized swimming coverage; Gary Bloom (play-by-play) will call open water swimming; and Todd Harris (play-by-play) will call swimming joined by analyst Rowdy Gaines and reporter Heather Cox.

WORLD PARA ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA continues daily coverage of the World Para Athletics Championships from London, England at 11 p.m. ET, beginning tonight and culminating on Sunday.

The U.S. team will be led by 17-time Paralympic medalist Tatyana McFadden, who won six medals at last summer’s Rio Paralympic Games. In the men’s T-11 long jump, four-time Paralympic medalist Lex Gillette will attempt to defend his 2015 world title. Other Americans to watch include sprinters Jarryd Wallace and Hunter Woodhall.

FIVB WORLD GRAND PRIX WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Looking to win its second major title in three years, Team USA continues play in the FIVB World Grand Prix in Cuiaba, Brazil, this weekend, led by Rio bronze medalists Carli Lloyd and Kelly Murphy. Team USA takes on Netherlands Thursday live at 4 p.m. ET, followed by a match against Belgium on Friday live at 4 p.m. ET, and faces Brazil Sunday live at 9 a.m. ET.

Paul Sunderland (play-by-play) and Kevin Barnett (analyst) will provide commentary of this weekend’s FIVB coverage.

FIE WORLD FENCING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents daily coverage of the FIE World Fencing Championships from Leipzig, Germany, beginning Friday at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Highlighting the competition for Team USA is 2016 Olympic silver medalist Daryl Homer.
