NBC SPORTS GROUP PRESENTS FORMULA ONE CANADIAN GRAND PRIX AND INDYCAR PRIMETIME RACE FROM TEXAS THIS WEEKEND

Formula One Canadian Grand Prix – Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC

IndyCar Rainguard Water Sealers 600 – Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN

NBC Sports Group’s 2017 Formula One Viewership Up 5% vs. 2016; IndyCar Viewership Up 9% vs. 2016

STAMFORD, Conn. – June 8, 2017 – NBC Sports Group’s motorsports coverage this weekend is highlighted by a live presentation of the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix this Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC, as well as the IndyCar Rainguard Water Sealers 600 from Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday night 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will provide streaming coverage of the F1 Canadian Grand Prix and the IndyCar Texas event.

F1 CANADIAN GRAND PRIX – SUNDAY AT 2 P.M. ET ON NBC

Formula One makes its annual visit to Montreal this weekend with the F1 Canadian Grand Prix, as the battle between Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton takes shape heading into the heart of the 2017 schedule. Vettel won the Monaco Grand Prix on May 28 to register Ferrari’s first victory in Monte Carlo since 2001, and now holds a 25-point lead over Hamilton in the standings. Hamilton will attempt to chip away at the deficit in Montreal where he has won five times in his career, including the last two races in 2016 and 2015.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will stream Practice 1 live tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET, followed by Practice 2 on NBCSN at 2 p.m. ET. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app stream Practice 3 on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET, followed by live qualifying on CNBC at 1 p.m. ET F1 Countdown will stream on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET, followed by live race coverage at 2 p.m. ET on NBC. F1 Extra wraps up the day’s events on NBC at 4 p.m. ET. NBCSN will air an encore on Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET.

Lead F1 announcer Leigh Diffey will call this weekend’s action, and will be joined by veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, and analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett. F1 insider Will Buxton will serve as the team’s on-site reporter from Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.

Through six races, NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the 2017 Formula One season has produced a Total Average Delivery (TAD) of 560,000 viewers, up 5% from the same point in the 2016 season (526,000).

TAD measures consumption across multiple platforms, combining the average minute audience for television and digital.

INDYCAR RAINGUARD WATER SEALERS 600 – SATURDAY AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Beginning this weekend, NBCSN will provide exclusive coverage of the final nine races of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series, culminating with the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma on September 17 on NBCSN.

Graham Rahal (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing) is coming off a pair of victories at the dual race in Detroit last weekend, and was the victor at last year’s event in Texas. The track in Texas has bred unpredictability, with eight different winners in the last eight Texas races dating back to 2010. Scott Dixon holds the lead in the standings (303 points) despite not having won a race this year, and seven drivers sit within 75 points of Dixon, including last year’s series champion Simon Pagenaud (Penske; 278 points) and 2014 champion Will Power (233 points).

NBCSN presents live qualifying tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. ET, and will air an encore of qualifying on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET, leading into race coverage on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET. Following the race, NBCSN will air Yellow, Yellow, Yellow, a behind-the-scenes look at the IndyCar safety team, at 11 p.m. ET.

Kevin Lee (play-by-play) will call the action from Texas Motor Speedway alongside former drivers Paul Tracy and Townsend Bell. Reporters Marty Snider, Katie Hargitt, Robin Miller and Jon Beekhuis will report from the pits.

Through three races, NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the 2017 IndyCar season has produced a Total Average Delivery (TAD) of 384,000 viewers, up 9% from the same point in the 2016 season (351,000).
