Golf Central Live From the Masters
Tuesday, April 4, 2017 (9 a.m.-1 p.m. ET)
Augusta National Golf Club
Augusta, Ga.

**Golf Central Live From the Masters continues now until 5 p.m. ET and again tonight at 7 p.m. ET on Golf Channel.**

On anticipated weather conditions on Thursday-Friday at the Masters
David Duval – “Potentially we could see the draw play a big effect this week again. The wind is going to be about the same on Thursday and Friday. The temperature difference from the early time on Thursday to the early time on Friday, I think that’s the big deal… I don’t think there’s a question that because of the wind, the inexperienced rookie, second-year players, that effect isn’t as big.”

On Dustin Johnson
Mark Rolfing – “For the first time really in his career, Dustin is comfortable not playing total all-out aggressive golf all the time. And that’s why he has played so well.”
Notah Begay – “He has this uncanny ability that he’s demonstrated this year to persevere when things get a little bit rocky.”

On Rory McIlroy
Begay – “I think Rory has to hit 55 or more greens for the week, or around 14 per day. And what that [will] allow him to do is sort of hide some of the putting challenges that he does have and issues around the greens.”
Rolfing – “I think he’s under a lot of pressure. I could argue that it’s the most pressure of any player coming into this Masters Tournament… Once he makes that turn from the first nine to the second nine, something happens. And he has trouble getting acclimated into that second nine.”
Ken Schofield “If we look back through history, how many chances did the great Sam Snead have at the U.S. Open? We know Phil Mickelson has six silver medals at the same U.S. Open. The pressure will ratchet up each year for Rory, but he’s always met those challenges in the past.”

On Jordan Spieth
Begay – “There isn’t a stronger mental player in our game… There isn’t any reason why – regardless of what happened last year – that I don’t think he could win.”
Duval – “It’s quite clear that he has figured out how to manage his way around this golf course. Not coming in maybe putting as well as we’d expect but that’s something I think that is being straightened out. And I think not playing the weekends in the last two events can be beneficial actually, a little freshness. Because I guarantee he’s been looking ahead [to this week].”

On Jason Day
Begay – “Let’s not overlook the fact that over the last few years he’s won the most tournaments of any of the top players. That includes Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy. So he’s definitely proven himself to be a threat any time he tees it up.”

On Rickie Fowler
Duval – “I expect him to have a good week. Last year I think was an aberration. He hasn’t quite done what I would have expected after he won at THE PLAYERS. But he burst back through at another hard, big golf course at The Honda, and then contending last week.”
