STAMFORD, Conn. – March 9, 2017 – Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin continues her pursuit of the overall FIS World Cup, alpine skiing’s most prestigious annual award, this weekend, as NBC Sports presents coverage from Squaw Valley, Calif., this Saturday on NBC and NBCSN.

In addition to women’s FIS World Cup alpine skiing, NBC Sports Group’s Olympic winter sports coverage features four speed skating and short track events, including the ISU World Allround and Short Track Speed Skating Championships, and a new episode of Curling Night in America on NBCSN.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming platforms for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will provide streaming coverage of this weekend’s events.

WOMEN’S WORLD CUP ALPINE SKIING IN SQUAW VALLEY – COVERAGE BEGINS SATURDAY AT 1:30 P.M. ET

With strong performances this weekend in Squaw Valley and at next weekend’s World Cup Finals in Aspen, Colo., Shiffrin is in line to become just the fifth American ever to win the overall World Cup title. Shiffrin (1323 pts) looks to extend her 178-point lead over Slovenia’s Ilka Stuhec, and is coming off a super combined victory in Crans Montana, Switzerland.

NBC will present coverage of Shiffrin in the giant slalom on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET, and NBCSN will showcase live coverage of Shiffrin in the second run of the slalom on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will live stream the giant slalom run tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. ET, and will live stream the first run of the slalom on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.

Steve Schlanger (play-by-play) and former World Cup skier Steve Porino (analyst), and Kelli Stavast (reporter) will provide commentary from Squaw Valley.

CURLING NIGHT IN AMERICA – SATURDAY AT 9 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN’s Curling Night in America coverage continues Saturday night at 9 p.m. ET, when 2006 Olympic bronze medalist Joe Polo and Tabitha Peterson represent Team USA in a mixed doubles match against Scotland.

Jason Knapp (play-by-play), 2006 Olympic bronze medalist Pete Fenson (analyst), and Tanith White (reporter) provide commentary for all Curling Night in America telecasts. The event took place at the Duluth Curling Club, in Duluth, Minn., from Dec. 1-3. Click here for more information.

NBCSN AND UNIVERSAL HD PRESENT ALLROUND SPEED SKATING, SHORT TRACK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AND WORLD CUP ACTION THIS WEEKEND

This weekend’s speed skating and short track action is highlighted by three-time Olympic medalist J.R. Celski, who will headline the U.S. contingent competing in the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Universal HD will televise coverage on Saturday night at 10 p.m. ET, and NBCSN will present coverage of the event on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports Group’s ISU World Cup Speed Skating Final coverage begins Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on Universal HD, and concludes Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on Universal HD.

In addition, NBCSN will present an encore presentation of the ISU World Allround Speed Skating Championships from Hamar, Norway, on Saturday, Mar. 11, at 8 p.m. ET.

Nick Gismondi (play-by-play) and 2006 Olympic gold medalist Joey Cheek (analyst) will provide commentary of the World Allround Speed Skating Championships, while Steve Schlanger (play-by-play) and eight-time Olympic medalist Apolo Ohno will call the World Short Track Championships.
