Coverage Begins Tonight at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN & Continues Throughout the Weekend, Culminating This Sunday at 5 p.m. ET

STAMFORD, Conn. – February 9, 2017 – As a part of NBC Sports Group’s 100 coverage hours of 2018 Olympic test events from South Korea, NBCSN presents coverage of the ISU World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships, beginning today, Feb. 9, at 5 p.m. ET. Coverage of the event continues throughout the weekend, culminating this Sunday, Feb. 12, at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Shani Davis, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in the 1000m and a two-time Olympic silver medalist in the 1500m, and 2014 U.S. Olympian Joey Mantia, who had reached the World Cup podium seven times in the 1500m (six in the last two seasons), highlight the field in the men’s 1000m and 1500m.

Two-time U.S. Olympian Heather Bergsma, the world record-holder in the 1500m, will attempt to win her first world titles in her signature events — the 1000m and 1500m. Bergsma trains alongside her husband, Jorrit Bergsma, the 2014 Olympic gold medalist in the 10,000m who will also be competing in Gangneung, South Korea.

Steve Schlanger calls the action, joined by analyst and Olympic gold medalist Dan Jansen.
