STAMFORD, Conn. – February 2, 2017 – NBC Sports showcases two of the biggest names in snowboard halfpipe this weekend, when two-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White and 16-year-old phenom Chloe Kim compete at the 2017 Toyota U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth Mountain in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC. Olympic winter sports coverage also includes two-time Olympian Ashley Caldwell and 2014 Olympian Mac Bohonnon at the Visa Freestyle International in Deer Valley, Utah, beginning on Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

This weekend’s Olympic sports coverage also includes the third episode of Curling Night in America on Friday night at 10 p.m. ET on NBCSN, and presentations of the FIS cross-country and nordic combined PyeongChang test events on NBCSports.com, NBC Sports app, and Universal HD. Other events streamed on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app include men’s and women’s skeleton and bobsled from Igls, Austria, and ski jumping from Oberstdorf, Germany.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming platforms for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will provide streaming coverage of this weekend’s events.

TOYOTA U.S. GRAND PRIX FREESKIING AND SNOWBOARDING – SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ON NBC

Shaun White looks to bounce back from his 11th-place performance at the Winter X Games in Aspen this weekend at his home event. Chloe Kim remains one of Team USA’s brightest hopes for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, despite having her streak of consecutive halfpipe victories (7) halted last weekend with a third-place finish in Aspen. Three-time Olympic medalist Kelly Clark qualified first for the halfpipe finals with a score of 92.25, edging out Kim’s 91.00 in qualifying.

Olympic gold medalists Maddie Bowman and David Wise highlight the group of American freeskiers competing in the halfpipe, as well as 2014 Olympic slopestyle silver medalist Gus Kenworthy and 2014 Olympian Aaron Blunck, who won his first X Games title last weekend.

Coverage from Mammoth Mountain begins with the ski halfpipe on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET, followed by the snowboard halfpipe on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will live stream the ski halfpipe tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. ET and the snowboard halfipipe on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET.

VISA FREESTYLE INTERNATIONAL AERIALS AND MOGULS – COVERAGE BEGINS SATURDAY AT 9 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Saturday night’s coverage from Deer Valley, Utah, is highlighted by Ashley Caldwell and Mac Bohonnon competing in the aerials event. Caldwell is the reigning overall World Cup champion, is currently third in the World Cup standings this season, and won in Lake Placid a few weeks ago. Bohonnon, who made his Olympic debut in Sochi in 2014, aims for a strong showing in what will be the first selection event for the 2018 U.S. Olympic aerials team.

Morgan Schild headlines the U.S. women’s contingent in moguls, but will have to surpass reigning Olympic gold and silver medalists Justine and Chloe Dufour-Lapointe of Canada. American Brad Wilson will look to best a group of international competitors headlined by Canadian Mikael Kingsbury, an Olympic silver medalist and five-time World Cup champion.

NBCSN’s coverage on Saturday begins with the moguls at 9 p.m. ET, followed by the aerials at 10 p.m. ET. NBC will also televise the dual moguls, a non-Olympic event, on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET, as the top skiers race head to head down the moguls course.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will live stream the moguls tonight at 9 p.m. ET, the aerials Friday at 10 p.m. ET, and the dual-moguls on Saturday at 10 p.m. ET.

Trace Worthington (play-by-play), Jonny Moseley (analyst), and Kelli Stavast (reporter) will call this weekend’s action from Deer Valley.

 

FRIDAY NIGHT IS CURLING NIGHT IN AMERICA – COVERAGE AIRS TOMORROW AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN’s Curling Night in America coverage continues tomorrow night at 10 p.m. ET, when skip Nina Roth leads Team USA women’s team against Japan. Last week on Curling Night, China defeated the mixed doubles team of Joe Polo and Tabitha Peterson by a score of 10-4 in their opening match.

NBCSN will also air a Curling Night in America tripleheader on Sunday night, beginning at 5 p.m. ET, with encore presentations of the first three episodes of the 2017 season.
