NBCSN BEGINS PRESENTS PERTH SCORCHERS VS. SYDNEY SIXERS IN 2016-17 BIG BASH LEAGUE CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY AT 10 A.M. ET

Pair of Former Champions Clash at WACA Ground in Perth, Australia, for 2016-17 Title

STAMFORD, Conn. – January 27, 2017 – NBCSN concludes its inaugural season of Big Bash League cricket coverage, this Sunday, January 29, at 10 a.m. ET, when the Perth Scorchers host the Sydney Sixers in the BBL final.

Roz Kelly will serve as studio host for the matchup, and Mark Howard will handle play-by-play duties. Kelly and Howard will be joined by analysts and former cricketing greats Mark Waugh and Ricky Ponting.

Perth is a two-time champion in the Big Bash League, winning in back-to-back seasons (2013-14 and 2014-15), while Sydney was the winner of the league in its inaugural season in 2011-12. Sunday’s final is a rematch of the 2014-15 championship match, when the Scorchers defeated the Sixers by four wickets.

Sunday’s match is the final of 10 Big Bash League cricket matches that NBCSN has televised  during the 2016-17 season, following seven regular-season matches and the two semifinal matches.

Featuring many of the best Twenty20 cricket players in the world, eight clubs from across Australia compete in the Big Bash League, including the  Sydney Thunder, Sydney Sixers, Hobart Hurricanes, Perth Scorchers, Melbourne StarsMelbourne
