NBC’s Sunday Night Football Continues Dominance – Pacing For Record 6th Consecutive Year as Primetime TV’s #1 Show
STAMFORD, Conn. – December 21, 2016 – NBC’s Sunday Night Football — primetime television’s No. 1 show — continues this week with an AFC West clash, as the Kansas City Chiefs (10-4) aim to clinch a playoff berth with a win against the rival Denver Broncos (8-6) on Christmas Night at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. Coverage begins with Football Night in America this Sunday, Dec. 25, at 7 p.m. ET on NBC.
The Chiefs and Broncos collide on Sunday Night Football this weekend for the second time this season. Kansas City and Denver produced one of the most thrilling games of the season in Week 12, as the Chiefs came from behind to defeat the Broncos 30-27 in overtime. WR Tyreek Hill’s touchdown catch with 12 seconds remaining in regulation and the ensuing two-point conversion forced overtime, and K Cairo Santos’ second field goal of overtime with two seconds remaining clinched the win for the Chiefs. Kansas City won despite 364 passing yards passing and three touchdowns from Broncos QB Trevor Siemian.
The Chiefs are in search of their 10th consecutive AFC West win, which would also clinch a playoff berth. The Broncos are one game behind the Dolphins for the second AFC Wild Card spot, tied with Tennessee, Baltimore and Houston at 8-6. Kansas City is coming off a last-second 19-17 loss to Tennessee, while Denver aims to bounce back from a 16-3 loss against the AFC-leading Patriots. Kansas City can also clinch a playoff berth on Sunday with a Baltimore loss or tie.
Calling Broncos-Chiefs are seven-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his record 31st season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 16-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth; and two-time Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya.
NBC’s coverage of Sunday Night Football is led by Emmy Award-winning producer Fred Gaudelli and Emmy Award-winning director Drew Esocoff.
Football Night in America, the most-watched weekly studio show in sports, is hosted Bob Costas, who will report on-site from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. Dan Patrick will host from NBC Sports Group’s International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn., and will be joined two-time Super Bowl champion Rodney Harrison.
“THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL” CONTINUES TOMORROW ON NBC; NBC PRODUCES RAVENS-STEELERS ON CHRISTMAS DAY
The only network with two primetime NFL packages, NBC continues its coverage of Thursday Night Football tomorrow, Thursday, December 22, as Eli Manning and the New York Giants (10-4) aim to clinch a playoff berth with a win at Lincoln Financial Field against Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles (5-9). Coverage starts at 7:30 p.m. ET with Football Night in Philadelphia on NBC.
Calling Giants-Eagles are Mike Tirico (play-by-play), Collinsworth, and sideline reporter Heather Cox. Bob Costas will serve as the host of the Football Night in Philadelphia pregame show from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa. He will be joined on-site by Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy and two-time Super Bowl champion Rodney Harrison.
In addition, NBC will produce Sunday’s Baltimore Ravens-Pittsburgh Steelers game at 4:30 p.m. ET on NFL Network. Mike Tirico calls the game joined by analyst Doug Flutie, with Cox reporting from the sideline. Dungy will join Tirico and Flutie in the booth beginning in the second quarter.

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BUS RETURNS FOR 2016 NFL SEASON
NBC Sports Group’s Sunday Night Football bus returns this season to travel the country, visiting the host cities of select Sunday Night Football and Thursday Night Football games. This season, fans will get a closer look at behind-the-scenes action of SNF broadcasts on the bus, which will take fans from the field, to the studio and in the production trucks. Features of the bus include an interactive replica of the control room, a replica of the Football Night in America desk, life-size “Photo Bomb” wall, and more.
The bus will arrive in each city two to three days prior to the game, making stops at local landmarks and events before heading to the game site. Once at the stadium, the Sunday Night Football bus will give fans the opportunity to interact with America’s most-watched primetime television show with exclusive activities, memorabilia and a 55-inch monitor housing social media elements.

2016 SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL AND THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS
NBC will present 24 regular-season primetime games, including 17 SNF games, the NFL’s opening game of the season NFL Kickoff 2016, the NBC’s annual Thanksgiving night game, and five new Thursday night games. Every 2015 playoff team makes an appearance on Sunday Night Football, and 19 of NBC’s 23 scheduled regular-season games (Week 17 game TBD) involve at least one playoff team from last season.
