NBCSN BEGINS COVERAGE OF 2016-17 BIG BASH LEAGUE CRICKET SEASON WITH PREMIER MATCHUP BETWEEN SYDNEY THUNDER AND SYDNEY SIXERS TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20 AT 3:30 AM ET

NBCSN to Televise 10 Big Bash League Cricket Matches During 2016-17 Season
STAMFORD, Conn. – December 19, 2016 – NBCSN begins its inaugural season of Big Bash League cricket coverage, this Tuesday, December 20 at 3:30 a.m. ET, when the defending Big Bash League Champion Sydney Thunder host the Sydney Sixers at Spotless Stadium in Sydney, Australia.
Roz Kelly will serve as studio host for the matchup, and Mark Howard will handle play-by-play duties. Kelly and Howard will be joined by analysts and former cricketing greats Mark Waugh and Ricky Ponting. NBCSN will televise an encore presentation of the match on Wednesday, December 21 at Noon ET.
Big Bash League coverage continues on Friday, December 23 at 2 a.m. ET, when the Sixers travel to Blundstone Arena, in Tasmania, Australia, to take on the Hobart Hurricanes. Kelly, Howard, Waugh and Ponting will call the matchup. An encore presentation of Sixers – Hurricanes will air Saturday, December 24 at Noon ET.
NBCSN will present coverage of 10 Big Bash League cricket matches during the 2016-17 season, including seven matches during the regular season, as well as two BBL Semifinal matches and the BBL Final.
Featuring many of the best Twenty20 cricket players in the world, eight clubs from across Australia compete in the Big Bash League, including the Sydney Thunder, Sydney Sixers, Hobart Hurricanes, Perth Scorchers, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, Brisbane Heat, and the Adelaide Strikers.
