NBC-Only Viewership of 26.5 Million Viewers for Cowboys-Giants is Best Viewership for Week 14 Primetime NFL Game in 27 Years & is Up 26% from Last Year

Cowboys-Giants Reaches 1.2 Million Unique Users Streaming More than 42 Million Live Minutes on NBC Sports Digital Platforms – NBC’s Best-Ever NFL Sunday, Excluding Super Bowls

STAMFORD, Conn. – December 12, 2016 – Last night’s New York Giants’ 10-7 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on NBC’s Sunday Night Football averaged a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 26.7 million viewers across NBC and NBC Sports Digital platforms – marking the most-watched primetime NFL telecast this season and NBC’s most-watched regular-season Sunday game since Week 1 of 2015, according to Fast National data released today by The Nielsen Company, and digital data from Adobe Analytics.

The NBC-only Sunday Night Football broadcast of Cowboys-Giants averaged 26.5 million viewers – the best viewership for a Week 14 primetime NFL game since 1989 (26.502 million for 49ers-Rams on ABC’s MNF) and topping last year’s Week 14 SNF game by 26% (21.0 million for Patriots-Texans). TV viewership for the Cowboys-Giants peaked at 28.1 million from 11:30-11:35 p.m. ET for the game’s final minutes.

NBC Sports Digital reached 1.2 million unique users who streamed 42.2 million minutes of Cowboys-Giants – NBC’s best-ever totals for a Sunday NFL game, excluding Super Bowls. Last night’s numbers are also up 197% and 142% respectively from last year’s Week 14 SNF game (393,000 uniques and 17.4 million minutes). The average minute audience for last night’s live stream via the NBC Sports app, NBCSports.com, NBC.com ‘TV Everywhere,’ and NFL Mobile from Verizon was 208,000 viewers – also a record for an NBC Sunday game.

Last night’s game (8:31-11:35 p.m. ET), highlighted by Odell Beckham’s 61-yard catch and sprint touchdown in the third quarter, registered a TV-only national household rating of 14.9/25 – up 21% from Patriots-Texans last year (12.3/20).

The Cowboys will put their NFL-best 11-2 record on the line against the 8-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
