NBC SPORTS REGIONAL NETWORKS ESTABLISH NEW BUSINESS AND LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE

Portfolio of Networks Aligned within Two Groups, Overseen by Ted Griggs and Bill Bridgen

Tom Stathakes named New General Manager of CSN Bay Area and CSN California

STAMFORD, Conn. – October 17, 2016 – NBC Sports Group has reorganized the structure and leadership of its portfolio of regional sports networks that deliver more than 2,200 live sporting events annually to 43 million U.S. households. The NBC Sports Regional Networks, which serve fans in major markets coast to coast, are now aligned within two newly formed Groups in the East and West. In addition, new General Managers will lead CSN Bay Area, CSN California and CSN New England. The announcements were made today by David Preschlack, President, NBC Sports Regional Networks, and NBC Sports Group Platform and Content Strategy.

Ted Griggs, previously President and GM of CSN Bay Area and CSN California, has been promoted to President, Group and Strategic Production & Programming Leader, NBC Sports Regional Networks. Griggs will oversee CSN New England, CSN Philadelphia, TCN, and CSN Mid-Atlantic. In this new role, Griggs will work closely with the GMs of each network to lead strategies promoting the growth and optimization of the businesses. Reporting directly to Preschlack, Griggs will also oversee strategy for Production and Programming for all of NBC Sports Regional Networks. Griggs will be relocating to work out of NBC Sports Group’s International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn.

Bill Bridgen, previously President and General Manager of CSN New England, has been promoted to President, Group Leader, NBC Sports Regional Networks, and will oversee CSN Bay Area, CSN California, CSN Chicago and CSN Northwest.  Each GM in this network group will report to Bridgen and collaborate with him on all aspects of super serving fans in their markets. Bridgen will be relocating to San Francisco, near Comcast’s Silicon Valley Innovation Center, and work with Preschlack to identify synergies and new technologies that drive the optimization of the NBC Sports Regional Networks portfolio. A new General Manager for CSN New England will be named in the near term.

Tom Stathakes, a longtime member of NBC Sports Regional Networks’ senior leadership team and former SVP of Production for Golf Channel, has been appointed SVP and General Manager of CSN Bay Area and CSN California. Stathakes will relocate to San Francisco and oversee relationships and content delivery surrounding the San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers, Oakland A’s, Sacramento Kings, San Jose Sharks and Oakland Raiders.
