ORLANDO, Fla. (August 25, 2016) – 45-year veteran baseball Hall-of-Fame broadcaster Bob Uecker will join Feherty on Tuesday (Aug. 30) at 10 p.m. ET to reflect on a life and career centered around the baseball diamond. A native of Milwaukee, he has served as the play-by-play voice of his hometown Milwaukee Brewers since 1971 after retiring as a major league catcher, where he was a member of the Milwaukee Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves. Uecker also is known for his role in the “Major League” movies, and over the course of the interview he effortlessly showcases his quick wit and a knack for storytelling. Topics discussed include:

  •  His more than 100 guest appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and earning the title “Mr. Baseball” from Carson
  •  How he propositioned Bud Selig – owner of the Milwaukee Brewers at the time – into letting him take part in Miller Lite commercials, and how it ultimately helped lead to the strong partnership between the Brewers and Miller Lite that exists today.
  • How he thought he ruined pitcher Sandy Koufax’s chances at the Hall of Fame after hitting a home run off of him
  • The similarities between the golf swing and a baseball swing

Upcoming Guests this Season

Other upcoming guests on Feherty scheduled for this fall include Pro Football Hall-of-Famers Emmitt Smith (Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 10 p.m. ET) and Cris Carter (Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 10 p.m. ET), and 2014 European Ryder Cup team captain Paul McGinley (Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 10 p.m. ET).

Described as “the last unscripted man on TV,” by Men’s Journal and as “golf’s wisecracking, maverick interviewer” by Esquire, Feherty has made a name for himself not only through his self-titled Golf Channel talk show, but as one of the most irrepressible personalities calling golf over the past two decades. A native of Northern Ireland and a former professional golfer who claimed 10 worldwide victories and a spot on the 1991 European Ryder Cup Team, Feherty is now a proud American citizen who has risen above a history of alcoholism and addiction to become an Emmy-nominated television host, New York Times best-selling author and comedic relief for thousands of men and women in uniform.
