STAMFORD, Conn. – August 21, 2016 – NBC Olympics presents Rio Gold, an hour-long special looking back at the defining moments of the 2016 Rio Olympics on Sunday, August 21, at 7 p.m. ET/PT leading into the Closing Ceremony for the Games of the XXXI Olympiad at 8 p.m. ET/PT, both on NBC.

 

NBC’s daytime coverage is highlighted by the men’s basketball gold medal game as Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony lead the U.S., winners of the last two gold medals, against Serbia at 2:15 p.m. ET.

 

Daytime coverage on NBC begins at 8 a.m. ET with the men’s marathon as Americans Galen Rupp, who won the U.S. Olympic Trials in his marathon debut, and Meb Keflezighi, the oldest U.S. marathoner in Olympic history at age 41, race for the gold. Coverage continues with rhythmic gymnastics group gold medal finals at 11 a.m. ET.

 

NBCSN’s coverage tips off at 10:30 a.m. ET with the men’s basketball bronze medal game between Spain and Australia, and continues with gold medal finals in men’s freestyle wrestling and boxing at 12:15 p.m. ET.

 

USA Network’s live coverage on Sunday kicks off at 8 a.m. ET with men’s wrestling qualifying, immediately followed by the men’s indoor volleyball bronze medal match as the U.S. takes on Russia at 8:30 a.m. ET. Coverage continues at 10:30 a.m. ET with the men’s handball bronze medal match, followed by men’s mountain biking at 11:30 a.m. ET, and the men’s handball gold medal final at 1:15 p.m. ET.
