New Season, Newly Promoted Teams: Hull City

First match: Hull City v. Leicester City, Sat., August 13, 7:30 a.m. ET on CNBC

Hull City earned promotion to the 2016-17 Premier League by winning the Championship Playoff Final after finishing fourth in the regular season. The promotion was the Tigers’ second in four seasons. Hull City will be tested early on in top flight action, facing champions Leicester City and perennial powers Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea in the first two months.

The club is located in Kingston upon Hull in northeast England. Hull City is known for their black and amber home kits, thus giving them their nickname, the Tigers. This season will be the Tigers’ fifth in the Premier League since 2008, when they earned a spot in the top division for the first time in the club’s history.
