STAMFORD, Conn. – August 9, 2016 – NBC’s primetime coverage of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad continues tomorrow, Wednesday, August 10, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and features a swimming showdown in the men’s 100m freestyle final between 2012 gold medalist Nathan Adrian of the U.S. and Australian sprint star Cameron McEvoy, plus a favored American quartet in the women’s 4x200m free relay, led by freestyle phenom Katie Ledecky and five-time Olympic medalist Missy Franklin. In addition, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, who both won gold tonight in the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay, seek to advance in the men’s 200m individual medley semifinals.

Wednesday’s primetime coverage begins with beach volleyball as Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross return to action against Switzerland. Coverage continues with the individual all-around finals in men’s gymnastics, where Japan’s Kohei Uchimura – winner of every world and Olympic men’s all-around title since 2009 – seeks to become the event’s first back-to-back Olympic champion since compatriot Sawao Kato in 1972. Sam Mikulak, who has won four consecutive U.S. national titles, could contend for a medal as the top American in the event.

NBC’s daytime coverage highlights Michal Smolen, 2015 World bronze medalist in men’s K-1, in his quest to give the U.S. its first-ever Olympic medal in the men’s canoe/kayak event, immediately followed by rowing finals at 3:45 p.m. ET/PT.

NBCSN’s live coverage on Wednesday kicks off with men’s and women’s road race cycling time trials at 7:30 a.m. ET. Coverage continues when Diana Taurasi leads the U.S. women’s basketball team against Serbia at 2:30 p.m. ET, followed by the U.S. men’s basketball team against Australia at 6 p.m. ET. Gold medal finals on NBCSN include women’s table tennis and men’s fencing, as 2015 World silver medalist Daryl Homer attempts to give the U.S. its first medal in the men’s individual sabre event since 1984.

USA Network hosts coverage of men’s rugby when the U.S. faces Fiji at 3 p.m. ET. Gold medal finals coverage shifts to MSNBC as 2008 Olympic gold medalist Glen Eller and two-time world champion Joshua Richmond compete in the men’s double trap final in shooting.

On Wednesday, Telemundo and NBC UNIVERSO simulcast live coverage of men’s soccer between Mexico and South Korea at 3 p.m. ET. Mexico looks to repeat after winning gold in London 2012.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 11

NBC’s primetime on Thursday, August 11, kicks off at 8 p.m. ET/PT with women’s gymnastics when three-time reigning world champion Simone Biles looks to become the fourth consecutive American to win Olympic gold in the individual all-around.

Swimming gold medal finals highlight Thursday’s primetime coverage as Phelps and Lochte are expected to face off for the final time in their storied rivalry in the men’s 200m individual medley final. Phelps also squares off with two-time reigning world champion Chad le Clos of South Africa in the men’s 100m butterfly semifinals. In addition, Australian Mitch Larkin hopes to snap a U.S. winning streak dating back to 1996 in the men’s 200m backstroke.

Thursday’s daytime coverage begins with gold medal finals in rowing at 10 a.m. ET/PT, immediately followed by women’s water polo as the U.S. takes on China. Daytime coverage continues with beach volleyball and gold medal finals in canoe/kayak at 2:30 p.m. ET/PT.

On NBCSN at 2:30 p.m. ET, American Kayla Harrison aims to defend her 2012 Olympic title in women’s judo, and the gold medal finals will be held in women’s individual archery. Gold medal finals coverage continues on NBCSN with men’s rugby at 5:30 p.m. ET, followed by men’s table tennis and women’s shooting at 8 p.m. ET.

Live coverage of golf’s return to the Olympic program tees off with the men’s first round at 6:30 a.m. ET on Golf Channel.   • Gymnastics – 19-year-old Simone Biles is favored to become the fourth consecutive American woman crowned Olympic all-around champion
  • Swimming – Michael Phelps duels compatriot Ryan Lochte in the men’s 200m IM final, where a Phelps gold would make him the first swimmer to win the same individual event four times. Other swimming finals include the women’s 200m breast; the men’s 200m back, where Australian Mitch Larkin could snap a U.S. winning streak dating back to 1996; and the women’s 100m free, headlined by Aussie sisters Bronte and Cate Campbell.

  • Swimming – Heats includes Michael Phelps (men’s 100m fly), Katie Ledecky  (women’s 800m free) and Missy Franklin (women’s 200m back) beginning pursuit of repeat Olympic triumphs.
  • Beach Volleyball – Two beach volleyball preliminaries from Copacabana Beach feature U.S. tandems as Lauren Fendrick and Brooke Sweat face Russia before Phil Dalhuasser and Nick Lucena take on Italy.

  • Post-event coverage of the women’s all-around final from gymnastics, plus whitewater canoe/kayak.

  • Archery – Live coverage includes early-round action in the women’s archery individual competition, in which surging Texan Mackenzie Brown seeks to give the U.S. its first medal since 1976.
  • Fencing – Live coverage includes the Hurley sisters of fencing – Courtney and Kelley – leading Team USA in the women’s team epee event (quarterfinals and semifinals).
  • Judo – Ohio-native Kayla Harrison begins defense of her Olympic title in judo’s 78kg class.
  • Rugby – The first men’s rugby Olympic tournament since 1924 concludes with the bronze and gold medal matches. While the U.S. has the fastest player in the sport, Carlin Isles, as well as New England Patriots defensive back Nate Ebner, who scored a try in Tuesday’s match against Brazil, traditional powers such as Fiji (seeking its first Olympic medal in any sport), South Africa, and New Zealand are expected to vie for gold.
  • Field Hockey – The United States takes on India in a women’s field hockey preliminary-round match as each team seeks the top-four finish in Pool B required to reach the quarterfinals.
  • Shooting – Two medal contenders clash in a men’s preliminary as Team USA faces volleyball-crazed host Brazil; the teams met in the 2008 Olympic final, won by the Americans.

 

USA HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Water Polo – Coverage includes a women’s water polo Group A match between Italy and Australia; since winning gold in home water at the 2000 Sydney Games, Australia has earned bronze medals in 2008 and 2012.
  • Table Tennis – Coverage includes the men’s singles semifinals; China has won gold in this event at four of the past five Olympics, and has Rio medal contenders in Ma Long and defending champion Zhang Jike.
  • Basketball – Brazil, led by Leandro Barbosa and Anderson Varejao, takes on Croatia in a men’s basketball Group B match-up. Croatia is seeking its first Olympic medal in men’s basketball since earning silver behind the Dream Team in 1992, while Brazil seeks its first medal since 1964.

 

GOLF CHANNEL HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Golf – Golf returns to the Olympics after a 112-year absence as the men’s tournament, using a 72-hole stroke play format, gets underway. Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson of the U.S. and 2016 Open champion Henrik Stenson of Sweden are among the contenders.

 

TELEMUNDO HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Basketball – Brazil, led by Leandro Barbosa and Anderson Varejao, takes on Croatia in a men’s basketball Group B match-up. Croatia is seeking its first Olympic medal in men’s basketball since earning silver behind the Dream Team in 1992, while Brazil seeks its first medal since 1964.

 

NBC UNIVERSO HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Basketball – Spain, runner-up to the U.S. in 2008 and 2012, meets Nigeria in a Group B basketball preliminary. Led by Portland Trail Blazers forward Al-Farouq Aminu, Nigeria returns after going 1-4 in its Olympic men’s basketball debut at the London Games.
