NBC Sports Group Presents 22 Hours of Trackside Coverage from Kentucky Speedway

STAMFORD, Conn. – July 6, 2016 – NBC Sports Group will present more than 50 hours of motorsports action this weekend, including by the IndyCar Iowa Corn 300 this Sunday at 5:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, and the Formula One British Grand Prix on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. ET.

In addition to this weekend’s IndyCar Iowa Corn 300 and F1 British Grand Prix, coverage includes the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Southwick National event on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC, Mecum Auctions coverage from Denver on NBCSN on Saturday and Sunday, as well as the NASCAR XFINITY and Sprint Cup Series races from Kentucky on Friday and Saturday nights on NBCSN.


INDYCAR IOWA CORN 300 – SUNDAY AT 5:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN continues its coverage of the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series this with live coverage of the Iowa Corn 300 from Iowa Speedway this Sunday afternoon on NBCSN. Will Power (Penske) earned his second win of the season at Road America in the Kohler Grand Prix on June 26 to move into third place in the championship standings.

Penske teammates Simon Pagenaud (375 points) and Helio Castroneves (301 points) currently lead Power (294 points) heading into this weekend’s race in Iowa, where Andretti Autosport drivers have won five consecutive times dating back to the 2011 season. Last year, Ryan Hunter-Reay took the checkered flag for the second consecutive year, and third time in the past four years.

Brian Till (play-by-play) will call the action alongside former drivers Paul Tracy and Townsend Bell. Reporters Jon Beekhuis, Katie Hargitt, Robin Miller and Kevin Lee will report from the pits.

F1 BRITISH GRAND PRIX – SUNDAY AT 7:30 A.M. ET ON CNBC

Coverage of the 2016 Formula One season continues this Sunday at 7:30 a.m. ET on CNBC with the British Grand Prix at the iconic Silverstone circuit. Viewers were treated to a dramatic finish in last weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix on CNBC, when Mercedes teammates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg collided on the final lap as they battled for the lead. Hamilton emerged from the contact unscathed and went on to win the race, while Rosberg finished off the podium in fourth place. Rosberg (153 points) now leads Hamilton (142 points) by just 11 points following last weekend’s result, as the series shifts to Silverstone where Hamilton notched back-to-back wins in 2014 and 2015 in his native country.

Coverage begins Friday on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app at 5 a.m. ET with Practice 1, followed by Practice 2 at 9 a.m. ET. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will stream coverage of Practice 3 on Saturday at 5 a.m. ET, prior to NBCSN’s live coverage of qualifying at 8 a.m. ET. Live race coverage from Silverstone begins Sunday at 7:30 a.m. ET on CNBC. NBCSN will air an encore presentation of the British Grand Prix on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports Group’s lead F1 broadcast team of Leigh Diffey (play-by-play), veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, and analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett will call the action. F1 insider Will Buxton will report on-site from Silverstone Circuit in England.

LUCAS OIL PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP – SOUTHWICK NATIONAL – SATURDAY AT 3:30 P.M. ET ON NBC

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship continues with the Southwick National from Southwick, Mass., this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Ken Roczen has been dominant in the 450 Class this year and earned his fourth sweep of the season last weekend at RedBud. Cooper Webb won his second straight 250 Class event last weekend at RedBud to pass Joey Savatgy in the class standings.

Veteran play-by-play voice Jason Weigandt, analyst and two-time AMA Pro Motocross Champion Grant Langston, and pit reporter Georgia Lindsay will call this weekend’s action.

MECUM AUCTIONS – DENVER – COVERAGE BEGINS SATURDAY AT 9:30 A.M. ET ON NBCSN

Following last year’s inaugural event in Denver, Mecum Auctions returns to the Mile High City this weekend, as an estimated 700 muscle cars, classics, hot rods, and more are expected to cross the auction block. Coverage begins on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN, and continues Sunday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. ET.

Scott Hoke will host NBCSN’s Mecum Auctions coverage on-site at the Colorado Convention Center, alongside analysts John Kraman, Stephen Cox, and Bill Stephens, and reporter Katie Osborne. Mecum Auctions is led by Dana Mecum, Founder and President of Mecum Auctions for the past 28 years.
NBC SPORTS GROUP PRESENTS 22 HOURS OF TRACKSIDE COVERAGE FROM KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY

NBC Sports Group marches into its second week of NASCAR coverage this weekend with 22 trackside hours of coverage from Kentucky Speedway. Following up a successful race weekend in Daytona, NBCSN’s coverage from Kentucky Speedway kicks off this Friday with XFINITY Series racing at 8:30 p.m. ET, followed by Sprint Cup racing from Kentucky presented by KFC Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
