COMCAST SPORTSNET’S PRESENTATION OF BLACKHAWKS-BLUES GAME 7 DELIVERS HIGHEST-RATED TELECAST IN NETWORK HISTORY

NEW All-Time BLACKHAWKS (and new CSN Chicago All-Time) TV Ratings Record: 19.07 (#1 in Chicago market); massive 15.85 rating in the key Adults 25-54 demo

Close to 663,000 Chicago TV homes watched CSN’s Game 7 coverage (7:30 – 10:30 PM); 

Over 830,000 homes were tuned in during the peak quarter-hour of 10:00-10:15 PM

CSN Chicago was also #1 in the Chicago market for TEN-STRAIGHT HOURS (3:00 PM to 1:00 AM)

Chicago, IL (April 26, 2016) – Comcast SportsNet, the television home for the most games and most comprehensive coverage of the Chicago Blackhawks, delivered its highest-rated Blackhawks game telecast in network history last evening (April 25) – a 19.07 Chicago market household rating for its live coverage of the Blackhawks Stanley Cup Playoffs Round 1/Game 7 match-up against the St. Louis Blues.  Last night’s 19.07 household (HH) rating also shattered CSN Chicago’s previous all-time high of a 13.69 household rating for the Chicago Bulls at Indiana Pacers first round NBA Playoffs telecast from April 21, 2011.

For last night’s Game 7 telecast, Comcast SportsNet attracted approx. 662,703 Chicago market households for the entire length of the game (7:30 – 10:30 PM CT) and posted a 23.89 peak rating during the 10:00 PM quarter-hour (over 830,000 households).  The Blackhawks-Blues Game 7 telecast also gave the network its all-time best rating in the key advertising demo category of Adults 25-54 (15.85).  Source for all ratings information is provided by Nielsen Media Research.

Comcast SportsNet was also the #1-highest rated television network in the Chicago market for TEN-STRAIGHT HOURS from 3:00 PM-1:00 AM among Chicago DMA households last night & in every key demographic category – which includes the Blackhawks-Blues game telecast, Chevy Blackhawks Pregame Live, Blackhawks Postgame Live presented by HawkAuto.com, GMC SportsNet Central & SportsNet Central presented by Comcast Business, and SportsTalk Live presented by The Chevy Silverado.  During the local news time period of 10:00-10:30 PM, the Blackhawks telecast was averaging a 19.65 household rating, which also made Comcast SportsNet #1 in the Chicago market during that highly-viewed time period as well.

Compared to last year’s first round playoff series vs. Nashville, Blackhawks first round playoff ratings on Comcast SportsNet this year posted significant ratings gains with a 22% FINAL increase for overall households (12.14 vs. 9.97) and a 17% increase for Adults 25-54 (8.85 vs. 7.57).
