NBC Presents Super G at U.S. Alpine Skiing Championships on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET

STAMFORD, Conn. – March 22, 2016 – NBCSN and Universal HD will combine to present more than 15 hours of coverage of the 2016 World Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships, including live primetime coverage of the U.S. Women vs. Sweden this Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET on NBCSN from Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

Coverage on NBCSN continues with the World Women’s Curling Championship Final on Thursday, March 31, at 9 p.m. ET. NBCSN’s coverage of the World Men’s Curling Championships begins on Sunday, April 3, at 4:30 p.m. ET, Team USA faces off against Canada.

In addition to curling, NBC will televise the men’s super G event from the U.S. Alpine Skiing Championships in Sun Valley, Idaho, this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports Live Extra — NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will stream all World Curling Championships and NBC’s U.S. Alpine Championships coverage.

Team USA earned its first win of the 2016 World Women’s Curling Championships on Monday, as Erika Brown led the Americans to a 5-3 win against Italy. The tournament’s format features an 11-game round robin, which determines which teams advance to the championship rounds.

2006 Olympic bronze medalist and three-time Olympian John Shuster will lead Team USA at the World Men’s Curling Championships, which begin Saturday, April 2, in Basel, Switzerland.

The 2016 World Women’s Championship and upcoming 2016 World Men’s Championship in Basel are the first opportunities for countries to earn points toward qualifying for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Jason Knapp (play-by-play) and 2006 Olympic bronze medalist and eight-time U.S. national champion Pete Fenson (analyst) will have the call of Thursday night’s Team USA vs. Sweden World Women’s Curling Championship match.

SECOND SEASON OF CURLING NIGHT IN AMERICA AVERAGES MORE THAN 100,000 VIEWERS ON NBCSN

NBCSN’s 12 Friday night Curling Night In America telecasts averaged 101,000 viewers, up 28% vs. seven Friday night Curling Night telecasts in 2015 (79,000). Six of NBCSN’s 12 Friday night Curling Night In America telecasts drew more than 100,000 viewers, including the most-watched telecast on Friday, February 12 (157,000 viewers), following NBCSN’s Fenway Big Air telecast.


NBC PRESENTS SUPER G AT U.S. ALPINE SKIING CHAMPIONSHIPS ON SATURDAY AT 12:30 P.M. ET

Three-time U.S. Olympian Steven Nyman headlines a group of competitors expected to participate in the super G at the U.S. Alpine Skiing Championships in Sun Valley, Idaho, this weekend. Nyman is coming off his fourth-consecutive podium in the downhill at the FIS World Cup Finals in St. Moritz, Switzerland, last week. 19-year-old Drew Duffy won the super G at the U.S. Alpine Skiing Championships at Sugarloaf in Maine last year, pulling off the upset victory by four hundredths of a second over Nyman.

Steve Porino (play-by-play), Olympic downhill skier Todd Brooker (analyst), and two-time Olympian Kaylin Richardson (analyst) will provide commentary for Saturday’s coverage on NBC
