ORLANDO, Fla. (March 2, 2016) – Golf’s most irrepressible personality – David Feherty – returns for a sixth season of his self-titled FehertySM show, premiering on Monday, March 7 at 9 p.m. ET on Golf Channel. The Emmy-nominated television host will welcome a slate of guests, which include World No. 1 golfer Jordan Spieth for a two-part episode (March 7 & 14); former United States President George W. Bush (March 21); and World No. 2 golfer Jason Day (March 28).

Jordan Spieth – Monday, March 7 & 14 at 9 p.m. ET

Following a historic season highlighted by his realistic shot at winning golf’s sacred “grand slam,” Spieth recounts his extraordinary 2015 campaign and rapid rise among the sport’s elite group of young stars. The episode – which takes place at Dallas National Golf Club – will air in two parts (March 7 & 14 at 9 p.m. ET), the first-ever for any guest in the series’ six-season history. The interview also will focus on the 22-year-old Texan’s humbling maturity, chiefly centered around family and a “we” mentality in always crediting a team of individuals helping to drive his success.

Former U.S. President George W. Bush – Monday, March 21 at 9 p.m. ET

On Monday, March 21, former U.S. President George W. Bush will visit with Feherty, becoming the second president to join Feherty for an interview following a stint in the oval office. The 43rd President welcomes Feherty to the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas on the campus of Southern Methodist University. The interview will juggle politics and golf, including Bush’s outlook on the 2016 presidential race and golf’s place in the political realm.

Jason Day – Monday, March 28 at 9 p.m. ET

Poised to become one of the most emotion-evoking episodes ever of Feherty, No. 2 player in the world and native Australian Jason Day will be the featured guest on Monday, March 28 at 9 p.m. ET. The 28-year-old major champion will open up about a troubling child amongst his “violent alcoholic” father Alvin, who first introduced Day to golf at age 3, and who later would motivate Day on the golf course through fear of physical and verbal abuse. By the time he was 11, anger and alcohol consumed the younger Day, which led to fights and a struggle to find purpose in life. Soon after, his father passed away and the family heeded Alvin’s wishes to send his son to a prestigious golf academy. There, Day met Colin Swatton, who eventually would become a second father figure and a trusted confidant, in addition to his current role as Day’s caddie. During the interview – staged in Palm Springs, Calif., – Day also will reflect on his own family, shedding light on his priorities as a husband to his wife Ellie and a father to his children Dash and Lucy.

New Show Elements in 2016

This season, the series will introduce a number of new elements, led by a sequence of “stand-ups” interwoven throughout each episode, with Feherty delivering anecdotal context on each of his guests in front of a live audience at Universal Orlando’s NBC Sports Grill & Brew restaurant. Additional new elements include a revamped “show open,” which features an updated rendition of the popular Feherty theme song music along with a new graphics package.

Other Upcoming Guests this Season

Other guests scheduled to join Feherty in 2016 include Super Bowl-winning running back Emmitt Smith; Emmy-winning NBC Sports personality Bob Costas; long-time golf analyst Peter Oosterhuis, who in 2015 announced his ongoing battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s; six-time Solheim Cup participant and women’s major champion golfer Paula Creamer; legendary play-by-play voice and “Mr. Baseball,” Bob Uecker; and former NBA all-star and head coach Doug Collins.

Described as “a cross between Oprah Winfrey and Johnny Carson” by The New York Times, and as “golf’s wisecracking, maverick interviewer” by Esquire, Feherty has made a name for himself not only through his self-titled Golf Channel talk show, but as one of the most irrepressible personalities calling golf over the past two decades. A native of Northern Ireland and a former professional golfer who claimed 10 worldwide victories and a spot on the 1991 European Ryder Cup Team, Feherty is now a proud American citizen who has risen above a history of alcoholism and addiction to become an Emmy-nominated television host, New York Times best-selling author and comedic relief for thousands of men and women in uniform.
