Golf Channel analysts Peter Jacobsen, Frank Nobilo and Mark Rolfing will preview the 2015 Hyundai Tournament of Champions at the Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii that features a winners-only field from the 2014-15 PGA TOUR season; the start of the 2016 PGA TOUR schedule and the storylines heading into the New Year. Jacobsen will be lead analyst for the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and the Sony Open in Hawaii, with Nobilo and Rolfing serving as tower analysts for Golf Channel’s live tournament coverage.
Rolfing, who has called Kapalua home for more than 25 years, is set to return to the broadcast team at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. He took a leave of absence following the 2015 PGA Championship in August for surgery and treatment after being diagnosed with a rare form of salivary gland cancer.
NBC Sports Group will present comprehensive news and tournament coverage of the first three PGA TOUR events in 2016, beginning with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions (Thursday-Sunday, Jan. 7-10), including weekend lead-in coverage airing on NBC. Golf Central, Golf Channel’s signature news program, will complement live tournament coverage with wraparound news coverage produced and broadcast on-site from the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and – for the first time – the Sony Open in Hawaii.
