NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL ON NBC AVERAGING NEARLY 4 MILLION VIEWERS THROUGH TWO GAMES

Two-Game Average Best Since 2012, Up 15% vs. Last Year

Georgia Tech – Notre Dame Viewership Up 76% vs. NBC’s First Afternoon Broadcast of 2014 Season

Stamford, Conn. – September 23, 2015 – Through two games this season, Notre Dame Football on NBC has averaged nearly 4 million viewers (3.9 million), NBC’s best two-game viewership average since 2012 (4.5 million), according to national ratings released yesterday by The Nielsen Company.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s 30-22 victory over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets this past Saturday averaged 3.7 million viewers and drew a 2.39 HH rating, up 76% and 77% respectively vs. NBC’s first afternoon game broadcast last year (Rice, 2.1 million viewers / 1.35 HH). Viewership of the game peaked with nearly 4.4 million average viewers and a 2.92 HH rating.

As previously reported, NBC Sports’ broadcast of Notre Dame’s season opening game against the Texas Longhorns on September 5 averaged 4.1 million viewers and drew a 2.42 HH rating, ranking as the most-watched and highest-rated season opening Notre Dame Football game on NBC in nine years.

NBC Sports Live Extra’s digital coverage of Georgia Tech – Notre Dame also posted record traffic. In total, 3.1 million live minutes were streamed across all platforms, the most ever for an authenticated Notre Dame Football game on NBC Sports Live Extra. The presentation delivered 62,000 unique viewers.

NBC’s third Notre Dame Football home game will air on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 3:30 p.m. ET and features the Fighting Irish against the UMass Minutemen.
