ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 1, 2015) – NBC Sports Group will begin its coverage of the final three FedExCup Playoff events on Friday with the Deutsche Bank Championship outside of Boston, where the top-three ranked players in the world – Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Jason Day – headline the field. The tournament is scheduled to finish on Monday given the holiday weekend, and will feature the top-100 eligible players in the FedExCup standings, with the top-70 moving on to the BMW Championship outside of Chicago in two weeks. The European Tour will stage the M2M Russian Open beginning on Thursday.

Final opportunity to earn points to qualify for the Presidents Cup: This is the final event for players to earn points toward qualifying for the U.S. and International Presidents Cup teams. Jay Haas (U.S. captain) and Nick Price (International captain) will announce their respective captain’s picks on Tuesday, Sept. 8 in a live 60-minute Golf Central show, beginning at 5 p.m. ET.
Monday finish: Due to the holiday weekend, opening round play will begin on Friday, and the final round is scheduled to be played on Monday. The top-70 players in the FedExCup standings at week’s end will be eligible to compete in the BMW Championship outside of Chicago in two weeks.
“PGA TOUR 2015” airing on NBC on Sunday ahead of Third Round Coverage: PGA TOUR 2015 presented by PowerShares QQQ will air on NBC at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday ahead of third round coverage. The 30-minute special will recap the most memorable moments through the 2014-15 PGA TOUR season, and also will take an in-depth look at Jordan Spieth, Robert Streb and Billy Horschel. In addition, the special will look ahead to the BMW Championship and TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola featuring insight from TOUR players competing for the FedExCup.
Kirk defends: Chris Kirk won by two strokes over Russell Henley, Billy Horschel and Geoff Ogilvy for his third career PGA TOUR win.
