NBC & Universal Sports Network Host Coverage From Beijing, China
NBC’s Coverage Begins This Saturday at 3 p.m. ET
STAMFORD, Conn. – August 20, 2015 – NBC and Universal Sports Network present coverage of premier track & field action from the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China, beginning tomorrow, Friday, August 21, through Sunday, August 30. NBC’s coverage begins this Saturday at 3 p.m. ET, and continues this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
Approximately 2,000 athletes representing more than 200 countries will compete at the famed Bird’s Nest stadium, home of the 2008 Summer Olympics, with less than one year until the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Headlining the field for the U.S. are four-time Olympic gold medalist Allyson Felix, competing in the 400m and the 4x100m and 4x400m relay, four-time Olympic medalist Justin Gatlin, competing in the 100m and 200m, and Olympic gold medalist Ashton Eaton, competing in the decathlon. International contenders include six-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt and four-time Olympic medalist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.
Veteran NBC Sports commentator Tom Hammond hosts coverage, joined by Ato Boldon, Craig Masback, Lewis Johnson and Todd Harris in Beijing, China.
