Hobie Call and Cody Moat Battle for Top Spot in the Men’s Elite Race

STAMFORD, Conn. – August 13, 2015 – NBC Sports Group continues its coverage of the 2015 Reebok Spartan Race season Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on NBCSN from Breckenridge Resort in Breckenridge, Colo. Featuring many of the world’s elite Spartan Race competitors, more than 4,000 athletes participated in the sprint, which traversed more than five miles.
Located at the highest altitude in history of any Spartan Race course (9,000 ft. elevation), participants competed through dirt and snow, over more than 20 obstacles. Elite competitors included Hobie Call, Cody Moat, Ryan Atkins, Amelia Boone, KK Paul and Lindsey Webster.
Highlights include a battle at the barbed wire crawl and spear throw, in both the men’s and women’s elite races. In addition, the show features the story of the Spartan Queens, a group of women from Colorado, who banded together after overcoming a series of personal obstacles, to collectively conquer the Spartan Race Breckenridge course as a team.
Veteran host and play-by-play announcer Sal Masekela will call the action for the telecast. Masekela will be joined by field reporter Christmas Abbott.
NBC and NBCSN will telecast six Reebok Spartan Races during the 2015 season, culminating with the 2015 Reebok Spartan Race World Championship in Lake Tahoe on Sunday, December 20 at 3 p.m. ET on NBC. Following the success of its debut season, the 2015 Spartan Race Series features updated obstacles, new race locations, and many of the world’s best athletes competing for $500,000 in cash and prizes, and the title of Reebok Spartan Race World Champion. During each telecast, viewers will be provided a front-row seat to competitors tackling a gauntlet of obstacles, including fire jumps, aerial traverses over water, challenging rope climbs and barbed wire crawls.
