PGA TOUR Shifts North for RBC Canadian Open

Garcia, Reed Headline Field at Omega European Masters

World No. 1 Park Headlines Field in Michigan at Meijer LPGA Classic

ORLANDO, Fla. (July 21, 2015) – The PGA TOUR is in Ontario for the RBC Canadian Open, where Bubba Watson and Jason Day will headline the field. 27 players are scheduled to tee it up at Glen Abbey Golf Club after having competed in the Open Championship. Two-time NCAA first-team All-American also will make his professional debut in Canada, after finishing T-12 at St. Andrews in his final competitive start as an amateur. Sergio Garcia and Patrick Reed will tee it up at the Omega European Masters in Switzerland, with the event being contested for the first time since 1977 in the week immediately following the Open Championship. And World No. 1 Inbee Park – with three victories this season – leads the field at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan, where Park came up short in 2014 after losing to Mirim Lee in a playoff.

27 players having competed in the Open Championship in the field: 27 players – including top-10 finishers Jason Day and Brooks Koepka – will make the 3,300 mile trip from St. Andrews to Ontario to tee it up this week.

Schniederjans making professional debut: Coming off a T-12 finish in the Open Championship, Georgia Tech grad and two-time NCAA first-team All-American Ollie Schniederjans will make his debut as a professional this week, having competed as an amateur for the final time at St. Andrews.

Clark defends: Tim Clark finished one shot ahead of Jim Furyk for his second career PGA TOUR win.

Headlining the field: Bubba Watson, Jason Day, Jim Furyk, Matt Kuchar, Ernie Els, Steve Stricker, Brooks Koepka, Graeme McDowell, Luke Donald and Ollie Schniederjans.

Familiar venue, new place on the schedule: Co-sanctioned by the European Tour and Asian Tour, the Omega European Masters has been contested at Crans-sur-Sierre since 1939, though this year marks the first time since 1977 that the event will be contested the week following the Open Championship versus its traditional September place on the Tour’s schedule. 31 players – including top-10 finishers Danny Willet and Sergio Garcia – are making the trip from St. Andrews to Switzerland after having competed in the Open Championship.

Lipsky defends: David Lipsky defeated Graeme Storm with a par on the first playoff hole for his first career European Tour victory.

Inkster to talk Solheim Cup on Friday: 2015 U.S. Solheim Cup captain Juli Inkster is in the field this week, and on Friday, will join Golf Channel’s broadcast booth to discuss her role. The U.S. and European Solheim Cups teams both will be finalized next month, with the event being held in Germany, Sept. 18-20.

#AweSummer continues: The LPGA Tour’s #AweSummer campaign continues this week, which is centered around the 10-tournament stretch (which concludes with the Evian Championship in September). Golf Channel will join in support of the campaign through its tournament promos and across its social media platforms.

Lee defends: Mirim Lee outlasted Inbee Park with a birdie on the second playoff hole to earn her first LPGA Tour win.
