STAMFORD, Conn. – June 10, 2014 – NBCSN’s coverage of the 2015 Stanley Cup Final continues tonight at 8 p.m. ET, when Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks host Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning, with the Lightning leading the series 2-1. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with a 90-minute edition of NHL Live, and will be highlighted by interviews with Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender and Blackhawk Tony Esposito, and actor and Blackhawks fan Vince Vaughn.

Three-time Emmy Award-winning play-by-play commentator and Sports Illustrated 2014 Media Person of the Year Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member and analyst Eddie Olczyk, and Emmy Award-winning Inside-the-Glass analyst Pierre McGuire will call Game 4 from the United Center in Chicago, Ill. This marks the ninth consecutive year that Emrick, Olczyk and McGuire will combine to call the Stanley Cup Final for NBC Sports Group.

Host Liam McHugh will anchor NHL Live from inside the arena, alongside analysts and former players Mike Milbury and Keith Jones. Dave Briggs will host coverage from a set outside the arena alongside analysts and former players Jeremy Roenick and Anson Carter. In addition, analyst and former goaltender Brian Boucher and NHL insiders Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger will join NBC Sports Group’s pre- and post-game studio coverage throughout the Final.

MIKE ‘DOC’ EMRICK TO RECEIVE VIN SCULLY LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Lead NHL on NBC voice Mike “Doc” Emrick has been named the 2015 recipient of the Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting, presented by Fordham University’s WFUV Radio in New York. Emrick is the eighth broadcaster selected for the award, named after longtime Los Angeles Dodgers announcer and Fordham University alum Vin Scully. Previous recipients include inaugural honoree Scully (2008), as well as NBC Sports’ Al Michaels (2012) and Bob Costas (2013). Emrick’s numerous career accolades include three Sports Emmy Awards for Outstanding Play-by-Play, including back-to-back awards the past two years, as well as the honor of first broadcaster inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012.

GAME 4 – TONIGHT ON NBCSN AT 8 P.M. ET – LIGHTNING LEAD SERIES 2-1

Tampa Bay took a 2-1 series lead on Monday night, scoring twice in the third period to come from behind and defeat Chicago 3-2 in Game 3. Cedric Paquette scored the game-winner with 3:11 left in the final frame, his second goal of the series, and Victor Hedman assisted on Paquette’s goal, his second helper of the night and fourth assist in two games.

This year’s Stanley Cup Final marks the first time since 2010 that the first three games of the series have all been decided by one goal, and at no point through the first three games has a team led by more than one goal. If tonight’s Game 4 is decided by one goal, it will be the first time since 1968 (Montreal vs. St. Louis) that the first four games of a Stanley Cup Final are one-goal games.

LIGHTNING-BLACKHAWKS GAME 3 IS THIRD-MOST WATCHED STANLEY CUP FINAL GAME EVER ON NBCSN

NBCSN’s presentation of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Lightning and Blackhawks averaged 3.896 million viewers, making it the third-most watched Stanley Cup Final game ever on NBCSN, and a 2.2 HH rating.

Viewership of Game 3 (8:03-11:06 p.m. ET) was up 35% compared to Game 3 of last year’s Stanley Cup Final between the Kings and Rangers (2.893 million), which the Kings won by a score of 3-0. The only Stanley Cup Final games on NBCSN to surpass Monday night’s viewership are Games 2 and 3 of the 2013 Final featuring the Blackhawks and Bruins.

Both Chicago and Tampa Bay drew their highest local ratings ever for a game featuring their respective teams on NBCSN. Chicago delivered a 24.0 rating, up 49% vs. the average rating in Chicago on NBCSN during the 2013 Stanley Cup Final (16.1). Tampa produced a 13.2 rating, surpassing its 11.9 rating from Game 7 of this year’s Eastern Conference Final against the Rangers.
